Old Reliable
While always my favorite of the Star Wars starfighters, I understand others reluctance to give them a try. It's slow and sluggish, but takes a pounding and with the ion upgrade adds some versatility.

That said, FFG nailed it again with the sculpt and paint scheme! Feels just like the movies and makes a great display piece.

Ion Turret? Yes Please!
I received the Y-Wing as a gift, and this ship has been a blast to fly in my Rebel squad. It's as slow as a turtle and as beefy as a cow, but this ship can soak up the damage with 3 shields and 5 hull. The Y-Wing really begins to shine when equipped with the ion turret. Using a 360 degree firing arc at Range 1-2, this turret only dishes out 1 damage at a time, but if it hits it "disables" your opponent's ship for the next turn, forcing them to take a 1 speed straight maneuver (white). This has the added bonus of ensuring a stressed enemy ship stays stressed AND you know it's position on the following turn, allowing you to set up some great shots from your supporting Rebel craft. I definitely recommend fielding at least one of these if you like to control the board!

Tough fighter
The Y-wing can take some damage, but it can't get out of the way of anything with its low maneuver. With the right upgrades, however it makes a tough little fighter to handle. Besides, it is an iconic fighter for the rebellions. Should be a definite addition for any rebel player.

Quite surprised.
Going into X-WIng, I didnt really have a clue what to buy so I just went old school and bought a y-wing. Wow, was I surprised! It is such a tank and has fantastic options to really make it a work horse for you fleet. I'm so glad I bought one!

A beast with TLT
Adding the TLT to the Y-wing is such a beast. Don't forget to get the Scum and Villany expansion to get the BLT-A4 upgrade. Definite must have for your collection. Probably should get more than one.

You will never be disappointed with a Y-Wing
Surprisingly versatile, the Y-Wing is a fantastic ship in X-Wing Miniatures. Able to take astromechs, 2 torpedoes and a turret upgrade which allows shooting outside your firing arc, Y-Wings are powerful ships. To top it all off, 8 hitpoints keep them in the game long enough to serve their purpose. Y-Wings tend to get better the more you fly and the newer expansions add even more options to bolster your fleet.

A no-frills workhorse for the serious squadron leader
A wonderful ship! FFG really nailed this one in gameplay. It's not fast or flashy, but it'll get it done. and at a premium to boot! Add one of the astromechs from the rebel transport pack and you have a mean control ship that'll ruin your opponents day! I never feel comfortable flying without one of these fellows in my squadron.

Unfortunately, it's not FFG's best model. The engine nacelles are sometimes crooked and the paint job is a little drab.

Nevertheless, it's a must have ship, for serious squadron leaders that know that fancy displays don't win dogfights, good old reliability does!

Not the easiest ship to use, but it is versitile
Missiles, torpedoes or as a turret ship, the Y-wing has its uses. As with all ships that are more of a tank and less maneuverable, you need to fly some escort craft around it to keep it alive. It can take *some* punishment before going out, but it definitely has the ability to dish out more damage to your opponent's fleet than what you paid to field it.

K-wing upgrade cards make the Y-wing more useful as well, so if you get one, make sure you get the other for variety in your Rebel fleet.

Great Price/Arrived Fast
This is my first purchase from Miniature Market! and I'll be ordering from them always!! As for the item, product was packaged clearly by professionals. I went with the 5.99 shipping and arrived quickly.

As for the Y-Wing, if your a Star Wars fan your gonna want this on the table. Fun to play.

One of My Favorite
This is one of the ships I bought when I first got into the game and I have to say it is still one of my favorites. Its bulky combined hull and shield value really makes t a bit of a tank, and the fact it can equip a turret allows you to fly more defensively rather than having to focus on getting a ship into arc.

That said the ship does suffer from a few problems, especially when there are a number of ships that can take its roll and be generally more consistent with it. That said with the Most Wanted expansion, which can be found on this site, you gain even more options allowing the chance for multiple attacks as well as the use of the bomb upgrades.

So even despite any issues it may have, this is yet another ship I would recommend. Besides if you plan to reenact the battle of Yavin you will need to at least buy a few of them.

Still Needs a little bit more
The Y-Wing was one of the first ships I bought when I got into X-wing. I stupidly bought it from another store; it was much more expensive there than on Miniature Market (9.99 for small ships is ridiculously good). First, downsides: their elite pilots don't have elite pilot talent slots. 2 attack dice and 1 defence dice is shabby. I can remember one instance in a game against a buddy where I destroyed a Y-Wing of his by turn 2 (a TIE Defender, Vader, and several TIE Fighters blew him away). Even with 8 total HP, you can get blown away by a good opponent with some lucky dice rolls. However, things are looking up for the Y-Wing. The BTL-A4 title card in the Most Wanted expansion gives the ability to fire a turret in the forward arc and the primary weapon both in one turn. The K-Wing expansion comes with a Twin-Laser Turret, which when coupled with the BTL-A4 title card, makes the Y-Wing a monster to fight. If you can get 2 of these guys lined up on Soontir Fel, he's probably done. In conclusion, this expansion by itself is so-so; but as you expand your collection, the Y-Wing becomes much better.

Great price - I didn't get into this unit as much as others.
Great value for the price but I didn't really get into using the y-wing's that much. Very slow ships - they can take a beating and ion cannons are fun. But I prefer some of the more heavy hitters. Decent ship. But there's better ones out there.

Y-Wings are back.
The model(one of my personal favorites for it's attention to detail) is good as are all X-Wing models.

You want a quick, tournament ready squad as of Wave 7? Get 4 of these, and go buy 2 K-Wings. Take the 4 Twin Laser Turret cards from the K-Wings and put them on the Y-Wings. You're done, you now have a tournament ready list.

Gameplay wise the Y-Wing is a tank. It's the default turret ship for the Rebels, and rightly so with the many buffs it's been getting since Wave 6. Right now, it seems you can't go wrong with a Y-Wing.

BTL-S3 for the Win!
The BTL-S3 Y-Wing is one of the toughest ships in the Rebel fleet, and I absolutely love it for that reason. Paired with the BTL-A4 upgrade from Most Wanted and the Twin Laser Turret from the K-Wing, the Y-Wing becomes one of the most devastating Front-Arc ships in the game. A squadron of them can easily tear through anything on the board. I will definitely buy more, just to see how over-powered a full wing of them in Epic Play can be.

Situational Tank of the Rebellion
The Y-Wing is the workhorse bomber of the rebel faction. While the load-outs included in the original, Wave 1 expansion are somewhat obsolete, the wide variety of upgrades and armaments currently available give this tank some new life. The Y-Wing is situational in use, but can really pack a punch when flown well and paired with complimentary ships (or more Y-Wings!).

The mini looks fantastic and includes solid pilots. While the cost of the expansions is always an interesting discussion, FFG follows through with excellent production and balance.

solid ship with turret option
The y-wing is a great ship. Low agility but high hit points. The turret option makes this shine. The twin laser turret (from the k-wing set) can make a pack of y-wings really formidable, though the ion turret is still quite useful as well. There is a scum variant y-wing in the Most Wanted set, as well as a y-wing only upgrade. The named pilots in this box have some potent abilities which makes the y-wing a nice addition to other ships. Highly recommend picking up one or two of these if you play rebels or scum.

An Old Workhorse that Keeps on Going
This is one of the 3 small based ships in the game that is usable across factions by both the Rebel Alliance and the Scum & Villainy faction (requires the "Most Wanted" expansion set which includes a Y-Wing repaint figure and associated cards, dials, and upgrades). It provides you with a solid and dependable ship that can take a beating. Between the various secondary weapon & upgrade options available to it it can serve duty as a torpedo boat, a bomber, a turret platform, or (if using the BTL-A4 upgrade from "Most Wanted", a pretty solid jouster capable of following up its primary attack with a secondary attack from an equipped turret card (however if you equip this card then you can only fire at ships within your standard firing arc). The tradeoff to all this is that its a low agility ship, so you'll be soaking up damage pretty quickly. As you can imagine, its maneuver dial is also nothing to write home about, which can make it difficult to utilize as anything other than a turret platform.

A classic model and a great statline.
The Y-Wing has been around since the first wave of ships was released for Fantasy Flight Games "X-Wing". Several years later in Wave 8, and the Y Wing is still one of the most viable ships available in the game. If you are looking to play with this expansion, you will also need a copy of the X-Wing Core Set.

The Y-Wing model looks great, and it comes with a small number of upgrades. If you're just a collector, the ship comes with a great paint job and realistic detail. Like most of Fantasy Flight's products, its of great quality for its price.

If you are looking to actually field your ships, the Y-Wing is one of the more versatile options available in the game. Thanks to the Most Wanted Expansion, Y-Wings are able to be played in 2 different in-game factions: The Rebel Alliance and Scum and Villainy. This makes the Y-Wing a great addition to any players collection, as you can use them to build in 2 different armies.

In game terms, the Y-Wing is a slow but heavily armored ship. It can take a beating. It's upgrade slots also allow it for multiple styles of play. Either a missile ship, a bomber, or a 360 degree gun ship.

I highly recommend this ship to anyone looking to build a Rebel or Scum and Villainy army. If you really want to make the Y-Wing shine, you may also think about picking up the Most Wanted expansion, the K-Wing expansion, or the Tie Punisher expansion. All of these expansions come with upgrade cards that compliment the Y-Wing and make it even better.

Underrated Ship
The Y-Wing miniature looks great. And while the ship itself is underrated by a lot of people, it's low initial cost and variety of upgrades available, both in this expansion pack and others, makes the Y-Wing a very utilitarian ship. It can be customized to fill most roles, and can be a huge surprise for an unsuspecting opponent.

Workhorse for the Rebel Alliance
The Y-Wing has always been one of my favorite fighters for the Rebel Alliance and it is no different for this game. It is limited with one agility and two attack, but with three shields and five hull, it can take a beating. It maneuvers like a large ship (it will stress going forward four). With the help of the K-Wing’s Twin Laser Turrets or the BTL-A4 title cards from the Most Wanted pack, the Y-Wing is now a bigger threat on the board. Pair it with the right Astromech or Salvaged Astromech and you will have a fighter that can stand toe to toe with most ships.

Slow ship but, lots of hull and with shields
The Y-wing is a slow ship but, very difficult to destroy because of its amount of hull and shields. The great thing about the Y-wing is that it can have a turret equipped. The turret allows the Y-wing to fire in a 360 degree firing arc. Having this combination of great hull and shield points with a 360 degree firing arc makes the Y-wing a formidable opponent.

Strong ship, low points, lowest price
I love Miniature Market's prices, even with sales tax they're cheaper than Amazon. The Y-wing is a great ship, pick up a K-wing or 2 for the twin laser turrets and wreak havoc on the table. My only complaint is a list of 4 Y-wings with TLT is a bit like "easy" mode, so be sure to mix it up every now and then so your friends don't stop playing against you.

Not just a great looking ship but becoming more and more useful in game. With upgrades found in the merc expansion, K-wing and Tie punisher can make the Y-wing into a tank, bomber, or equip with any number of turrets to be a pain to formations and very expensive ships.

Y-Wings get no love
Despite other top choices for the rebels to play in a 100 point game, these can be very effective still. Flying four of these in close formation, will drop a TIE fighter every turn. Turret weapons allow your formation to fly around the edges of the map, making it hard for the Imperials to swing around you while your turrets put out punishment. Taking the ion cannon into effect, and the TIE swarm quickly breaks up.

Beautifully modeled with lots of fine detail.

A rewarding challenge to play.

Small tanks
With their high hull and shield points, these ships can take quite a beating. They're agility and maneuverability aren't so great, but that's what a turret is for. Play 4 of these each with a turret, and there will be very few places where your opponent can run!

A great accessory to the Star Wars X Wing miniatures game!
I've purchased two of these ships for the game and I must say, they hold up well and have some great abilities! Their stats line up perfectly in representation to the actually wings of the Star Wars universe. What it lacks in manuverability and speed, it easily makes up for in weapons. It can be equipped with many different weapons that allow it to be extremely versatile for whatever its purpose in your fleet may be. I highly recommend them, and will be purchasing more of these workhorses!

The quality of the figures is fantastic, and the painting is very well detailed.

So if you're looking for a ship that is extremely durable, has a large weapon load out, and can stand its ground for many turns of the game, this is the ship for you.

If your looking for speed and maneuverability, the x wing and a wing are your best bet.
