Exploiting hookers and drugs to get cash and guns so you can wipe out your rival biker gang... What more could you ask for in a game about Sons of Anarchy?
This is an awesome game that does an incredible job of evoking the feeling of the setting. Where else can you exploit hookers and drugs to get cash and guns so you can wipe out your rival biker gang?
In addition to its immersive color, it's actually also a challenging multi-player strategy game that involves making calculated decisions about what turf is worth defending and when. With the possibilities of alliances among gangs providing backup, the prospects of failed diplomacy and betrayals make it even more interesting and challenging. Totally worth it.
The only thing that prevents this from being a five-star game is that it turns can tend to drag on with larger player numbers.

Easy to learn
Easy to learn and quick to play. SOA is especially worth getting at Miniature Market's discount. Though I wish the gang member minis were unique for each faction, the game play and setup are top notch. The bidding and bribing mechanics are a lot of fun if everyone really gets into their gang's character.

Must have for SoA fans
Bought this game because I am a fan of the show, and am now a big fan of the game. The more players you have the better the game experiance. Each players controls their own outlaw club that must take and keep income tiles while dealing with, threatening, or taking out rival MCs. I highly recommend this to any fan of SAMCRO.

Quick play , emerssive
Picked up this game with the idea to have a few friends of the family over and pay whilst watching a marathon of the show.
The game fizzled the first couple attempts. But once the quitters and smaller attention span folks were weeded out myself and two other buddies made it or mission to learn and successfully complete a full game.

Maybe it was the show being played that pumped up our guests but we ended up with spectators from about the 3rd round on and throughout the next two games.

It was almost as if SAMCRO , The Ninesrs , and The Mayans players had our own little club groupies that were interested in what each of us were doing in the game.

As previously mentioned the player to player alliance type of mechanics is what really kind of made the game. And as needs for each player arose and fizzled those alliances could at times be extremely brief. Which in turn would cause x or y player to become vengeful. This type of payback type gameplay really captured the feel of the show in a fun experience.

Stumble through the mechanics , once the rules click and there's a fluid turn to turn play happening the game plays very smooth and is a blast!

At the clearance price point you really can't beat it.

Greatest strength... it plays fast!
I recently picked up this game on clearance at the bookstore... never been into the tv show but I love battlefront's board games like Spartacus.

The best thing about it... it plays lightning speed for a board game. Setup is easy, with the game evolving as you go. Fighting is pretty much one die roll. The game operates on a built in timer to last 6 turns.

There is only the most minimal amount of downtime involved as other players make their moves, and at any point the game can be punctuated by a gang fight, or political deal making between players.

All of that means you can often get people to play that normally wouldn't have the time or the mental stamina for a four hour board game. This game plays in an hour easily even if you are playing with all beginners to the game. I could easily imagine a veteran 3 player game to last half an hour.

While you might be giving up some crunch for all that streamlining, it's not what you would assume at first. I've been playing the game for about a month now and still haven't scratched the surface of different strategies using deals between the players to my advantage, and there are plenty of rules options to make the game longer or more challenging.

I actually ended up watching the tv show after i played this board game.

My only quibble: The miniatures are boring. I know they are just tokens but they are all the same and basically cheap looking! Most of the other visuals in the game are fine... as they are just lifted from the TV show and should be familiar to those who watched. That is the only reason price and value are at 4 stars.

Great group game with negotiations, worker placement and territorial disputes!
A bunch of my friends and I have played Sons of Anarchy a few times and really enjoy it. The worker placement mechanic is simple but strategy is definitely involved in where you go and what you do. The strategy early in the game is different than what you need to do in later rounds to end up with the most money.

The best part about the game is the negotiations and side deals you will make with the other players. It's really the part of the game that makes it interesting for my group. Other than that its another worker placement game (but with a fresh theme at least).

I highly recommend giving this game a shot if you like wheeling and dealing with some gang battles to top it off!
