Star Realms Deckbuilding Game

I bought this game when it finally became available again and I'm so glad I did.

The game itself can be learned very quickly, as there really aren't a lot of mechanics to worry about. I find the simple game play part of the appeal, as I can sit down and play several games during lunch at work, or as a filler between other large games on game nights.

Regarding the play itself, it takes a few turns to get much going, as most deck builders are, but once you've chosen the direction you'd like to go, things start to really ramp up, especially if you can get a hand loaded with cards from the same faction. Card synergy is very important, so if you get a good draw, things can cascade very quickly.

Overall, I love this game for its simple play and quick completion. The only negative that I really have with it is that the card quality isn't all that great. After only about a dozen plays, the deck was already showing signs of wear, so I had to sleeve the entire thing to keep it from getting any worse. At that point, you'll need to invest in a deck box since it won't fit into the original box anymore.
