From the humble beginnings of civilization through the historical ages of progress, mankind has lived, fought and built together in nations. Great nations protect and provide for their own, while fighting and competing against both other nations and nature itself. Nations must provide food and stability as the population increases. They must build a productive economy. And all the while, they must amaze the world with their great achievements to build up their heritage as the greatest nations in the history of mankind!

Nations is an intense historical board game for 1-5 players that takes 90-180 minutes to play. Players control the fate of nations from their humble start in prehistoric times until the beginning of World War I. The nations constantly compete against each other and must balance immediate needs, long-term growth, threats, and opportunities.

well executed knock off of Through The Ages
This is a fine game. Its almost as if someone played Through The Ages and thought "Hey, I bet I could make a version that wouldn't take so long"
TTA, is clearly a better game than this, but if you don't have 5 hours for a single game play, this is a nice substitute.

A great game for groups or the solo gamer
Every now and then a game comes along and as you play it you think to yourself, wow they really have an elegant mechanic going on in this game. Nations is one such game. This is a game that combines worker placement with buying from a randomly selected group of cards in order to score victory points with a variety of categories. You can also choose to add workers to the pile that you have while, but that will cost you additional resources. Since what you are able to do varies with the cards and money you have available the game is never the same twice, and with different leveled cards and asymmetrical start positions the combinations of games is very large indeed. The art is solid and the theme plays out well in how different cards work. If you like Euro games or games that have all kinds of difficult choices to make I cannot recommend this game enough.
