Operation Icestorm is a totally new product in the Infinity catalog. A box containing fourteen miniatures belonging to two different armies, an introductory ruleset, scenery, and dice - everything you need to start collecting Infinity or just to complete your collection!
Apart from that, Operation Icestorm is the way to be introduced to the Infinity 3rd Edition, the long-awaited revision of this game, as it includes a full-color rulebook (English/Spanish) with five tutorial missions to learn to play, making it easy to understand the Infinity core mechanics. In this book you will also find the background and troop profiles of all the troops of the Battle Pack. There is also a brief guide to the Infinity universe.
Operation Icestorm contains two new and re-sculpted Starter Packs of two different factions, PanOceania and Nomads. A total of fourteen highly detailed metal miniatures! To fulfill the game experience, the Battle Pack includes ready-to-play cardboard scenery (four buildings and six containers), a game mat, dice, and cardboard markers, templates, and a measurement ruler. Everything you need to start playing!
The game play is great, very different from other games, great quality in terms of miniature detail. However they are a bit difficult to assemble at times and lack pose variety. The price and value are pretty dang good, and the rules are 100% online, and not through sketchy sites....from creators main web page so give the game a go.
Operation IceStorm is an amazing two player starter set that enlists the forces of PanOceania and the Nomands fighting over the technological secrets hidden within the MOTO.Tronica R&D facility located on the frozen plains of Svalarheima.
This kit contains the Nomads starter set and PanOceania starter set plus a bonus figure for each faction included. Also included in the box are items such as; a 64 page full colored "Infinity Operation: IceStorm" A4 tutorial rulebook stating introductory rules for 3rd edition of the rule set along with beginner missions, a circular template, 8 inch or 20 centimeter ruler, two sets of 3 twenty sided dice with the logos of each of the factions, and a MOTO.Tronica scenery pack which includes two foldable power hub buildings, two foldable main management buildings, two MOTO.Tronica foldable containers, two AccessTel foldable containers, two Compass T. foldable containers and a game mat.
The figures included in this are amazingly casted in metal. Each faction is constructed from the faction's corresponding starter set plus an additional figure to help bolster the troops. The Nomads set included in this box include the forces of three Alguaciles from Corregidor, a Mobile Brigada, a Grenzer from the Grenz Security Team, a Spekter, and as for the exclusive figure included in this kit; a wonderfully sculpted Reverend Healer bringing the point total to 160. As for the PanOceania set, this kits forces include; three Fusillers, a ORC Troop, a Nisses from Svalarhelms, a Akalis Sikh Commandos, and for the kit exclusive; included was the Military Order Farther-Knight, wielding a sword. This brings the PanOceania to a point total of 166. In this review I do not plan to go into depth about stats.
As for the building process… Well building this kit was a different experience for me due to the fact that I am used to building Games Workshop figures that are easily bonded together with Citadel plastic glue. This kit, being cast in metal, had to be glued together with superglue or something of that sort. There were a few parts that I felt needed to be modified as I built the figures, such as parts that didn’t fit just right in the pre-cut notches in shoulders and wrists.
Had this in the closet for a min but never really had the time to assemble the models and try to get games in. I'm super new to Infinity and my local game store is pretty far ... anyway, my 13yr old nephew is visiting for the summer so I broke it out and now we can't get enough of playing! The graduating missions with the rules explanations alongside is easily the best way to learn and makes this the greatest intro system I've seen. You will have questions but the answers are pretty easy to find if you look online.
If you have a friend, or in my case someone to press gang, don't hesitate. You will both get addicted.
All minis are expensive, and all mini games put a lot of rules around "human" situations... this is where this game is really fun. It eases you into the rules by iterative missions, and it is the most intuitive gaming system I have found. I started with warhammer (to support local game store), moved quickly to war machine, and feel like I finally found a home with Infinity. The quality of the minis are great, and I love the scenery this comes with. Painting is a a steep learning curve - but between youtube and the buddy system, you'll be fine!
this boxed set is the best way to enter infinity game, its a 2 player boxed set that fits great for new players and for players with collection.
New Players will find 2 popular factions with around 150 pts for playing, with the basic ruleset with introductory tutorial missions, also the enough terrain for set a gaming table ready to play from the box.
Old Players: Will find appart from the new miniatures bundle and recast, will find 2 exclusive miniatures of the this boxed set.
Overall its a great boxed set that could work as stand alone game by itself or expand infinity wargame collection.
Brings papercraft terrain that makes sturdy by the own boxes where miniatures comes.
Tokens to track everything (once you get used to play infinity you´´ll find that this game is almost unplayable with tokens)
Excellent highly detailed metallic miniatures for Panoceania and Nomads faction with around 150 pts each, that completes previous collections.
2 d20 dice with a custom 1 with the logo for each faction
if you wonder about infinity and want to learn about this game, this is the best pack and the right price for testing.
As Infinity Warcor i recommend to have this, since the value is great!
Infinity is the Queen of tabletop minis war games. It can be difficult to get started in due to the complexity of the rules.
Icestorm is an excellent introduction to the game. It has a mini-campaign you and an opponent can play through in 1 to 2 gaming sessions. The campaign is made up of scenarios which slowly introduce more rules. All the minis & terrain needed for the campaign scenarios come with Icestorm.
Purchased separately, the minis and terrain would cost you a bit more than Icestorm. And the starter rules and limited addition figs simply aren't available outside of Icestorm.
Pick up this box if you want to try the rules and see if they are for you.
I love the new Starter Operation Icestorm, the new minis are freaking awsome and the terrain? its have all that you need to fall in love with Infinity CB makes a great improve with this new 3D printed minis
The new infinity starter operation icestorm is so freaking amazing. the new sculpted minis are so great and the exclusive minis are so good to the father knight is op and the reverend healer is nice too. By the way the new sculpted mobile brigada is so gorgeous that i really wan it. The icestorm is coming and i really want it.
While i just started infinity, I knew what faction I wanted to play, but for the value of this starter set I couldn't refuse not to buy it. After playing it, I now decided to play Pan O now as my other faction! the amount of items you get at this price is just incredible! the game is a lot of fun! The models are beautiful! AND IT COMES WITH TERRAIN TERRAIN TERRAIN!!!!! :)
The operation icestorm Pack is perfect to initiate in the infinity universe. The new scultps are so good that change the mood of the game completely make it more attractive and the other hand bring the terrain to help to begin to play the game inmediately, brings the tokens and the templates in other word everything you need to start to play infinity in the best way posible. Operation Icestorm its so good!!!
This set comes with two starter groups...PLUS a small board's worth of terrain, the rules, dice, and cutout templates. Infinity is a fast-pace game and the best way to describe it is a first-person shooter on the tabletop. The two factions are paired well against each other, offering balanced groups to wade through the rules with.
An excellent starter set for Infinity, it includes two balanced teams of highly detailed pewter figures, some terrain for a quick setup, introductory rules, and dice. It's everything you need, save for painting supplies, right out of the box.
This core is definitely the way to get started if your interested in either of these armies. They are very similar in basics, but once you get into the more advanced rules you can see how each of them have their own flavor.
Not a fan of the cardboard buildings, but if you get into it your going to want better scenary.
The exclusive models for each is not very important but nice to have.
Great product! If this is in stock and you like miniature games get this, you won't regret it.
Operation Ice Storm is a great box. The miniatures are great quality, well made and fun to paint. The terrain included is easy to use and makes for a good table for beginners or demo games. I definitely recommend it.
Infinity is a fantastic war-game with great replay value and plenty of fun for a small money investment relative to a lot of other war-games. Icestorm is a great intro to the game, but if your not interested in either of the factions provided the game can be just as easily played with any of the starter boxes and the online resources. The best value will probably be found in splitting the difference between a friend.
I've played my fair share of tabletop games in my day, and I've gotta say this the best by far. My brother and I split the cost for thsi starter set, I'd say the price is teh ultimate down fall, but the game is so much fun that I dont feel cheated in any way. The miniatures are so highly detailed and are some of the best looking and finely sculpted on the market. The small rule book comes with missions that are excellent in teaching the basic of the game. All in all, it is a top notch product and I cant recommend it enough.
There are wonderful sculpts in the Operation Icestorm box first of all. The next best part is that the box comes with a fold-able set of terrain. While it is not the sturdiest material, it is useful in setting up a quick battle for introductions and players learning the basics. It also comes with a mini rule book and tokens. The usefulness of which cannot be overstated. Great deal, great product.
