"When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die. There is no middle ground."

- Cersei Lannister

Across the Seven Kingdoms and beyond the Narrow Sea, the Great Houses of Westeros are pitted against one another in bitter conflict. Join forces with House Stark, House Lannister, House Targaryen, House Baratheon, House Greyjoy, House Martell, or House Tyrell as they seek to control the Iron Throne, or take the black and champion the Night's Watch in their efforts to defend The Wall and protect the realm of men.

Scratches the MOBA itch
Love this game! My favorite card and tabletop game of all time. Extremely deep and strategic gameplay scratches that DOTA 2/League of Legends itch, but in tabletop form.

Great Core Set
Game of Thrones 2nd Edition fine tunes all the fussy rules from first edition. Its a great core set with 8 included factions. All the main characters, great for any fan and further to that the gameplay is great for 2 - 4 players.

Get yourself a second copy of the core set and you can easily play varied decks with up to 6 players.

Great Multiplayer Game
Played V1, version 2 is a def improvement. Great multiplayer game because of one fact no one gets knocked out, some one wins or you keep playing so one player does not get knocked out and have to wait and hour for the next game.

Very flavorful and packed with good art and all the characters you love and love to hate. Very unique combat style that can make for very interesting games, and great interactions. 4 player this game shines.

Winter is Coming... Stay warm with a good Board game!
Fantasy Flight has done it again. A Game of Thrones LCG 2.0 is a fantastically polished and flavorful game. The design at almost every step of the way is both intuitive and fun.

The variance inherent in most card games of a similar pedigree is kept in check by plenty of deck manipulation and a fair amount of card draw built directly into the phases. No more will you begrudge losing a game to a lucky "top deck" or an unlucky "top deck" by your opponent or yourself, respectively. As we have come to expect from the AGoT universe, instead, the game focuses on a constant cat and mouse guessing game that truly allows you to play your opponent, and not the cards.

The game offers a wide depth of strategy in both play and deckbuilding, that should leave you content after hours and hours of play. And that's just with a single Core Set. Add one or even two more and all bets are off.

Prepare to spend weekend after weekend conspiring, plotting, and vying for the Iron Throne.

This title gets 5 stars on all fronts from this reviewer.

Geat game
The immediate simplification I want to make is that Game of Thrones: The Card Game is like Magic: The Gathering except you’re fighting your opponent on three fronts. The characters that you play from your hand have a “strength” value, but also big coloured buttons above it showing whether they can be used in fights for Military, Intrigue or Power. As you’d expect, Ned Stark contributes a vast reserve of strength to your military and power struggles, but he’s about as much use in clandestine spywork as a high-visibility jacket.

If you wouldn’t have guessed that, because you've somehow trundled through the 21st century neither having watched or read Game of Thrones nor absorbed the spoilers through osmosis, you’re going to miss out on an awful lot of the fun here.

The colourful themes of card games aren’t just set dressing. They’re vital for drawing players into the game, and as new cards come out they’re responsible for brand new interactions that are dramatic, thought-provoking or laugh out loud funny. In my first game of 2nd edition my Lannister opponent played a “The Things I Do For Love” card, except in our alternate history he pushed a puppy out of a window.

Same great game, much needed update
First thing I must say is Game of thrones second edition is beautiful. The graphic art is amazing and is truly great stuff from FFG. The new edition plays the same as v 1.0 but addresses a lot of issues with V 1.0... Issues with draw cap are addressed with new limits on plot deck cards and also adds new key words that make the game more interesting. This is a must own if you enjoyed V 1.0
