Strong but no overwhelming
After using this ship in a few matches, it can be a bit pricey for your fleet. It can really hold it's own. However, if you don't know how to use it, you can get over whelmed and crushed quickly. It's balanced to allow small and medium ships a decent chance.

Time for Epic Scale X-wing Battles, this is a must have.
This is the first of the big ships I purchased, and I am definitely hooked, the scale is perfect, and it looks amazing. All while bringing a whole new depth to the game. With these bigger ships, you can do some massive games. I can't wait to see more of the larger ships for this already incredible game.

If this is a consular ship, where is the Ambassador?
The Tantive is a huge ship for the X-Wing Miniatures games, meaning it cannot be played in the standard mode, but instead is reserved for Epic play. The Tantive comes with an amazing mold and paint job, as well as a few points of articulation. It looks awesome, and any collector would want this piece on display.

In game terms, the Tantive typically sees less play, as Epic play for X-Wing has not been as developed as the standard mode. The expansions comes with a large number of upgrades, though many of these upgrades are specifically for Huge ships and cannot be used in standard play for this reason. However, this expansion does include a few upgrades that can be used in the standard game, and these few upgrades are currently viewed as some of the best cards in the game. One of them, C3PO, is thought to be one of the best cards available to the Rebel Faction in the standard game.

The Tantive comes at a steep price considering that it cannot be used in most X-Wing games, but it’s craftsmanship is well worth it, and many argue the price is justified by the C3PO upgrade alone. It’s play style is unique, and it really brings a whole new game to the table. I recommend it for anyone who is looking for more ways to play and who might be tired of the standard 100 point dog fight.

Epic
The ship is great, the detail and quality are outstanding. Epic play is a blast, but I just don't know if this ship is for everyone. Besides the c-3po card that everyone wants for their Falcon, no much out of this set will see regular use. A must have for collectors but for the actual game of x-wing I would skip it. Use your money on ships that will see the table more often.

A little pricey to fly in an Epic Battle, but certainly packs a punch!
With a bare minimum of 90 pts just to fly it in an Epic Battle, this thing isn't cheap, but with the right upgrades it becomes a flying fortress with 2 halves capable of offensive and defensive tactics. And for the player that insists to give all of his ships a custom paint job, this one certainly is a nice break from the teeny-tiny fighters.

Absolutely Gorgeous
The behemoth is a beautiful addition to the game, adding a whole new element. The price tag aside, the model is amazingly detailed, and the uses for this thing are nearly limitless, even outside of epic play. It also comes with a "campaign" or set of story driven missions for scenario play. A great addition.

Awesome, but not without it's flaws
I pre-ordered this ship and waited around for seemingly forever to get my hands on it. From the time it arrived until even now I am amazed at how awesome this thing looks. It came out of the box and together with not one issue. That is not to say it's perfect. I find the range ruler annoying as well as distasteful to look at. I feel like a solid piece was needed not the two pieces stuck together. Besides that personal issue the ship and tokens all are amazing.

After trying out the built it "Point of No Return" mission I feel as though it is set up for the Empire to fail. It seems too easy for the CR-90 to survive given it's shield regeneration ability and with the limited amount of turns the Empire has to take a section out. The reason I didn't give the Game Play a lower is because while it may feel a bit unbalance I think it should feel that way. A bunch of TIE's and a few large ships really shouldn't have an easy time crippling this massive ship.

I overall would recommend it for the price under the MSRP of $90. it's good, but maybe not $90 good. It is a joy to play with and definitely brings a new feel to the game when looking down the hull at this massive beast. I look forward to the day we have epic Empire vs Rebel duels.

Has draw backs but overall great product
Game Play:
As of writing I've only been able to play with it once, and it was a lot of fun. The mechanics of the huge ship class are pretty fun. One of the draws of this game for me are the maneuvers and strategy of the small ships. The scale of this ship reduces the strategy/planning of the maneuvers somewhat because of the lack of mobility. However, because energy generation is tied to movement a lot of this is made up for in the planning and receiving of energy to fuel abilities. It still feels like there is some decision but because it moves such little distance the actual placement of the ship doesn't hold much weight (unless you hit and obstacle - Or hopefully an enemy ship).

Quality:
The one I received (as a gift) came with a busted engine, and a small piece of another engine had melted plastic, like the form didn't mold all the way. However, the one engine was easily glued back on. And I didn't even notice the melted spot till I was sitting there staring at it waiting for my opponent to finish movement choices. When I was at my local game shop looking at them I noticed that the radar was busted on one and a gun on another. I don't think the shipping process has fared well with these large ships. That said (with the exception of the plastic mold portion) it appears that where the breaks are occurring is at glue joints from the manufacturer so I think that any of the above referenced comments are easily remedied at home, even if it's annoying coming out of the sealed box.

Price:
MSRP is overpriced. However, I have yet to see this above $65. At that price point for what you get in the box, the size of the ship, and the detail I think that it's worth it.

Value (TLDR):
So in conclusion, it feels a little expensive for the quality. However, the ease of fixing those minor defects, of which you aren't even guaranteed to get mind you, and in light of the excellent game play it provides makes it a worth while purchase. Knowing what I know now I'd still buy it. 4 stars.

Something that detailed at that price point for the public is awesome.
There are many collectors out there who always find ways of making a ship that they cannot buy either from custom built from scrap jobs to contracting a model company to make one for you. Both of which take either a lot of time or a lot of money. This is the first time I have ever seen model in this detail at this scale that is both a playable piece and a display piece and at an affordable price for the general public. It is just AWESOME. Game play can be decided over time but considering the scale they are trying to maintain and still be playable I say they did a great initial job. There can always be tweeks for those that think they can make it better but who doesn't tweek rules?? Great piece Hands down. GREAT job FFG you have my eyes and ears now for your next jem....Come on EMPIRE!
