Easy to Learn and Play Miniatures Gaming
Walking Dead All Out War is a flat out great, easy to learn and play miniatures game that should get way more attention than it does. Mantic makes their rules for this game very intuitive, and unlike other minis games, players are not overwhelmed with a lot of cards and players options to track while they learn the game. The result is a friendly, well paced skirmish game that can be as narrative or unconnected as you like. As an added bonus, character creation rules are included in the "Days Gone By" Expansion, so if you tire of Rick Grimes & Co. can head yourself over to Heroforge to create custom miniatures to include your game (I make zombie-fighting versions of friends). The game expands easily with 3-character packs or larger scenario/character boxes, allows for personalization with custom characters (again, in the Days Gone By expansion), and doesn't take hours to learn. Because it is set in contemporary times, there is a ton of variety in 28mm-scale scenery available to use for this game. I love it. (4 stars on game play as custom characters should be included in the core set.)

great game! can't wait to add to my collection
fun and easy game to play once you learn all the rules. painting the miniatures is half the fun and makes for a unique game. game mat is cheap (upgrade mat is much better) but I converted mine to a tri-fold board. it can be played solo or with friends and has great replay value being able to change the setup and characters

All Out Wallet
While not unique (Imperial Assault does this as well), Mantic has a rather shameless selling gimmick in that the core set only has two well-known characters, Rick and Carl, and you have to get the rest of them, typically individually, in mini-expansions costing $16 or expansions. If you're new to zombie miniatures, the zombies and background survivors give the core and expansions more value, but, if you already have a collection of zombie miniatures, Mantic is just milking the license. The miniatures themselves have good detail, but their proportions are not "true scale" like Zombicide. I would describe their bodies as "chunky" with their heads not quite the right size to their bodies. Unpainted at tabletop, you probably won't mind. But, if you paint, it's a strange case of uncanny valley. The gameplay itself is player versus player, where one player takes Ricks' survivors and another plays some bad guys who don't even last a chapter in the comic. (Going back to the marketing, I'm disappointed that Nagan or The Governor are in, you guessed it, expansion sets.) Zombies are something like wandering effects that the players can manipulate by changing the noise levels. Not a bad zombie miniatures game, just one that intentionally will cost you.

Solid game, great price, lots of replay.
This is one of my favorite games i have. The miniatures are beautiful and really fun to paint, the game components are printed very nicely (the game mat can have a bad glare if light hits it right, but the game mat can be upgraded), and the gameplay is solid and easy to learn. Really great price for the core box as well.
