Hannibal & Hamilcar @ 0:09:07

Hannibal & Hamilcar: Rome vs Carthage is a set of two games telling the story of the epic struggle between ancient Rome and Carthage. The conflict, known as the Punic Wars, lasted more than 100 years and has defined our modern reality in many ways.

Hannibal, which is set during the Second Punic War, has been designed by one of the most acclaimed designers in the world, Mark Simonitch. The game has won numerous awards and is considered to be a golden classic. This 20 Anniversary Edition of the game includes new scenarios, variants, and streamlined game mechanics. It is an symmetrical politcal game that presents a conflict between two superpowers of Anitquity from a classical Clausewitzian perspective, according to which a power only reverts to military operations when there is no other way to achieve the goal: political dominance.

Hamilcar, which is set during the First Punic War, is a companion game designed by Mark Simonitch and Jaro Andruszkiewicz that uses similar mechanics as Hannibal. It introduces a naval system and exciting naval battles. Both players compete for control of the Mediterranean Sea in a conflict that will be described as the struggle of land-based empire versus the world's naval power: Rome's goal was to break through the island chain of Siciliy, Corsica, and Sardinia - Carthage's defensive line to contain Rome on the Italian peninsula.
