Integral to using Stormblades
If you are putting Stormblades on the table, this is a compulsory upgrade.

Even though the point cost is higher for this UA, it is cheap for what you get. The Officer model, besides just adding another couple of attack, gives the entire unit Assault, which is absolutely devastating when combined with the Leader model's extra range for the ranged attack. The Flag Bearer is equally important, adding an AoE component to ranged attacks.

If you've got to choose between the UA and a Stormblade Captain, take the UA. They're that awesome.

A Useful Addition but a Pain in the A** to Own.
The Storm Blade Unit Attachment is adds a lot to your unit of Storm Blades. The
Standard Bearer gives your ranged attacks a 3" blast effect. The Officer provides the assault order to the unit giving them the ability to shoot and melee on the charge. The standard bearer has combat stats and weapons too so not just a warm body to suck up bullets.

Both models are metal, unassembled, and unpainted with some considerable heft to them. The sculpt for the Officer is amazing, it's balanced, and there's enough metal on the sword to keep it from bending. The standard bearer is completely different story.

The standard held by the bearer is where all the trouble comes from. First the model comes in two parts with the pole attached to the model and the top of the standard. The glue joint for the two is minuscule. I ended up taking a soldering iron and melting the two pieces together. Use of "green stuff" epoxy type puttys or Gale Force 9 accelerator might help in this situation if you don't have access to a soldering iron. The standard is also quite heavy. While it isn't heavy enough to bend the pole it is heavy enough to unbalance the model thus he falls over a lot. I ended up getting a metal 30mm Privateer Press base to drop the center of gravity. The final issue with this guy is height. He stands just under 4" tall. This means that to maximize your foam usage this guy will be in a separate tray of foam from the rest of the unit or he will be laying on his side. If you lay him down make sure to support him in multiple places. Note, I've not had any issues with the pole bending.

Please don't let issues with assembly keep you away from this Unit Attachment. They are very useful and you'll get over any issues just like I did.
