Lots of Love for These Guys in Bad Seeds!
Rangers are great! Strong native defense, a great ability to mark targets and speed make these a fun unit in Magnus the Warlord's Bad Seeds theme force. Running a ranger out of formation to get him nice and close to an obliterator's destination can help your rockets land where you need them to land. They're not bad shots themselves, either, though they're pretty low POW.

The miniatures are pretty cool as well, even if there's some dispute over who is the leader model (it's supposed to be the crouching guy, but just about everyone uses the woman with the telescope). Needed a small amount of cleaning and minimal assembly (arms, mostly) to get on the table. Finicky to paint, but so fun on the tabletop I'm considering a second unit...

Cheap Cygnar support
Squishy...but not TOO squishy. A meager 1HP unit but they're fast, cheap and handy. I use them with Sloan but I'm sure there are other Warcasters who would find them useful. The models themselves are pretty well detailed, great if you are just starting out because there's not a lot to put together for them. Just be aware that two of them in the box are essentially the same figurine. Not a bad choice for a ranged Warcaster but certainly not ideal for just any setup.

Singular utility unit
If you're planning on relying on ranged units in your army, the Rangers may be worth considering. They are pretty fragile if not benefitting from cover or concealment, but their main utility is in scouting targets for your other ranged units, to whom they provide a bonus to attack rolls. The overall quality of the models is high, with very minimal assembly; they are almost ready to play out of the box. Overall, if you're not depending on your ranged units to win you the game, you may find better units for the points.
