Product Review (submitted on March 7, 2014):
This is an excellent board game. It is not a war game because everything about it is abstract. The hex sizes are abstract, the unit sizes are abstract, and the unit stats are more abstract. But if you are wanting an easy to play game of world war two, then this is your game. With the starter boxed set, you can fight your way from D-Day to the invasion of Paris. With expansions, you can fight the German army in Africa as the British, or fight them in Russia with Russian troops, or fight as the American Marines across the many island chains of the Pacific Theater. There is an expansion to fight the many battles known collectively as the Battle of the Bulge. A miniatures expansion allows you to use plastic miniatures instead of badges to represent the many different types of units. While some take the time to paint all of their miniatures, I don't paint board game pieces. There are even rules available to take what is essentially a two player game and play it with two sets for eight players! One of my favorite games, I give it four out of five bullets!
