Munchkin

This is the original Munchkin. It's theme is basically a fantasy parody of Dungeons and Dragons, and you got through the game defeating monsters, stealing their stuff, and stabbing your friends repeatedly in the back.

Munchkin is a good game, somewhere between casual family fun (aside from a couple somewhat risque cards) and hardcore gaming. Mostly, it's just funny and fun.

If you are looking to purchase a Munchkin game, this one is a good choice, but I highly recommend that you choose your base set based on what you like. Into Space Science Fiction? Vampires? Secret Agents? Greek Mythology? Zombies? Pirates? Cowboys? Cthulu? Almost anything? There's a Munchkin for you. If you like fantasy and/or D&D, then this is the Munchkin you're looking for.

One of the benefits of Munchkin is the ability combine sets, and the mixing possibilities are endless. You won't have time nor money nor shuffling patience to play through ever single Munchkin set, so pick a theme that works for you. They all have their own thematic twists, and in each one you'll be killing monsters, stealing their stuff, and stabbing your friend repeatedly in the back.
