Ticket to Ride USA 1910 Expansion

The USA 1910 Expansion is a great example of what an expansion can do for a solid game. It doesn't add any rules, but it tweaks the existing game to provide a bevy of new gameplay options. This expansion is, essentially, a set of new route cards. It uses the same map and the same basic gameplay (there are some set-up and end-of-game bonuses that are different) as the base game.

These new routes give you three new ways to play the game. If you like the game but just want something a little different, you can play with only the new routes. If you want a high-scoring game where all players have a ton of potential to get lots of points, you can play the "Mega" variant that uses all routes from both the base and the expansion. Or, if you want a cutthroat game, you can play the "Big Cities" variant which limits play to routes that include one of eight major cities on the map. The cards are all plainly labeled, which makes sorting relatively easy.

Additionally, this expansion includes large-format (what we Americans tend to think of as "normal sized") cards for the base game as well, eliminating the one pesky thing about the base game--which was those tiny little cards. So, if you enjoy Ticket To Ride, this expansion will open up a lot of new gameplay avenues for you.
