Sentinels of the Multiverse: The Final Wasteland Mini Expansion

Product Review (submitted on August 16, 2016):
There are 12 environment enemies/targets and 3 other cards in this expansion. The enemies are all relatively unforgiving and have some familiar faces in them- like the Rat Beast, a form of the Plague Rat and the currently one of the only non-villain character card that has a nemesis (namely, Chrono-Ranger). The enemies are all pretty brutal as well, attacking the lowest hp and second-lowest hp cards first. There is also a Mongolian Death Worm that hits the 3 targets with the highest hp for 6 damage and then gets shuffled back into the environment deck.

The 3 other cards consist of 2 locations that are beneficial to the heroes and one of the most annoying cards in the entire game, the Unforgiving Wasteland. If the Unforgiving Wasteland is in play and a target is destroyed by damage dealt by an environment target it is removed from the game instead of going into the discard pile. While this helps to eliminate certain villain cards, this also gets rid of some of the best hero cards too! Certainly annoying.

Thoughts:

This environment definitely makes the fight harder for the heroes because there are only 2 cards in the deck that won't attack you. This gives you a lot more threats to deal with and makes defeating some villains, like Iron Legacy, almost impossible. However, it makes some of the easier villains (like Baron Blade) harder to deal with. I really like this expansion because it is so challenging. It is a beast to deal with and is a lot of fun to play against.

I'd recommend this expansion to anyone who likes Sentinels of the Multiverse and wants another challenging environment. It definitely can make the difference in any game, and makes any hero harder!
