During the medieval goings-on around Orleans, you must assemble a following of farmers, merchants, knights, monks, etc.

You need followers and their abilities to expand your dominance putting them to work as traders, builders, and scientists. Knights expand your scope of action and secure your mercantile expeditions. Craftsmen build trading stations and tools to facilitate work. Scholars make progress in science, and last but not least it cannot hurt to get active in monasteries, since with monks on your side you are much less likely to fall prey to fate.

You will always want to take more actions than possible, and there are many paths to victory. The challenge is to combine all elements as best as possible with regard to your strategy.

Great Worker Placement
This is going to go down as one of the best worker placement/bag building games of all time. I'm not sure it's perfectly balanced with the many paths to victory, but it has been fun and competitive every time I have played it. It is quick to teach for a game with good depth and variety. Simultaneous actions means there is no down time, and the fixed number of turns puts a nice cap on the time limit. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a different twist on the sometimes stale worker placement genre. It's too bad the deluxe edition isn't available, but the standard edition still shares the same great game play.

Worker placement with a twist...
Excellent twist, you draw form a bag your workers previously added. It's a bag building worker placement game. Excellent art and it's beautiful on the table. Two thumbs up, can't wait to get the expansion.

Lives up to the Hype!
Drawing your characters from the bag and choosing which actions to use them on is a fun task and the heart of this game.

This is a bag builder, like a deck builder, but using a bag instead of a deck of cards. You acquire better pieces to build it up, which has an engine building feel, and you can also thin it to make it more efficiently produce what you need. As with any good builder, building up and thinning are both rewarding.

There are a few ways to earn VP's but enough variety and combinations that it feels unique every time you play. Your strategy dynamic feels personal and it is gratifying to watch your engine work.

The components are terrific. TMG is known for that now.

If you like medium weight euro's this seems like a must have and a long term keeper in most peoples collections.

I have also played "Siberia the Card game" by this designer and it is a terrific, thinky filler and we like it more than Biblios and Jaipur even. A little hard to find, but quite good.
