Unbeatable price, manageable posing mishap
Very solid mini. CANNOT beat the price for what you get. Unfortunately the mandibles do hang extremely low and one of the three I bought actually touches the ground. but still worth the price if you need some hulking insectoid monsters to slay

Nice mini!
The Nolzur's minis are generally pretty nice, but can be a bit hit-or-miss. The Umber Hulk, however, is a really nice mini (with one or two flaws). It is very organic and insect-y, and is really easy to get looking realistic with a paint job. The are no under-realized features, with the odd exception of one of the antennae (which was cast as part of the shell which makes up the critters back.) This makes an odd gap in between the head and the antenna. It was fairly easily fixed with DAS and green stuff, but it was an odd design decision. Also, as others note, the pose is very hunched over. I was able to use the hot water trick (dip in hot water, bend, dip in ice water) to bend him into more of an upright pose, but its still going to be pretty far hunched over. These two flaws, however, would never keep me away from the mini as it is a really outstanding piece.

Great value, bad posing
Overall, I do really like this model. It just feels properly like an overgrown insectoid menace from the deeps.

However, the posing is kind of awful, it is leaned so far forward that its mandibles are brushing the ground. I may look at cutting it free and re-posing it with my handy-dandy knife and superglue, but it is still perfectly functional otherwise.

Regardless, it's still a great value for the price, and I'm expecting that it will be just as easy to paint as the others (though I'm going to wait until I decide on fixing the pose before i do so)

For the money this is a steal.
I had to cut the left leg free of the base and move it forward to fix the posture... but for the money you can't loose. Too bad you can't share photos, is show ya how it came out.

Overall a solid 4.5/5
The material is incredibly sturdy and durable. The posture is different from the preview for mine, as it is slouched down so far that its face is making contact with the ground. There is a small sculptors cut on its back, but I don't mind it too much.
