You are the leader of a tribe whose people explore the fabled twelve rivers flowing from a mystical lake high in the mountains. Your goal? To find the magical coloured pearls that roll down the rivers in the current. Perhaps a helpful fairy may help you on your quest! Where the rivers converge there is a village where many people and animals live in harmony. There you can make life-long friends and deliver the pearls you have collected, to be used to heal, grow, and ensure another prosperous year for all.

Updates to this 2025 Edition:

  • Stunning new 12mm pearlescent finish pearls (up from the original 8mm pearls) in 5 rich colours for easier identification and handling.

  • Reduced height floodgate. Between this change and the larger pearl size, pearls loaded at the tops of the rivers are now more visible, which helps players strategically plan their tribe token placement each round.

  • Tribe token placement costs are now printed on the board's left edge for easy reference, and the board slot's cut shapes are now rounded for improved durability.

  • Increased tribe token placement costs.

  • New dual use camp cards. Use either for placement as usual, OR play cards in matching pairs for consequential tactical abilities e.g. allowing players to mitigate having their tribe token collections blocked upstream, turn order changes, action or collection efficiency etc. These increase the amount of gameplay, and the focus on different areas of the board.

  • Some fairy token abilities were changed or rebalanced.

  • Pearls remaining in the lake at the end of a round remain in the lake. With other gameplay changes the lake area is overall less powerful than in the original version, but this change makes it occasionally powerful still.

  • All 5 Alpaca goals are now played each game, rather than just 1. This adds a race tension to collect the 5 pearl colours across the early and mid game, and more points for all players. Your goal is to win 2 or 3 of these races to do well. Careful planning around which pearls to get when adds a fun timing pressure to pearl collection, beyond their raw value and the villagers you place them on. This intensifies placement and collection tension for ALL of the pearl colours.

  • Starting villager tiles. 4 starting villagers set initial player turn order in a balanced way, and reward players for completely 'filling' their villager's pearl collection spots.

  • Changes to villager abilities. Camp card reward changes scale to villager capacity and ability strength, and reductions to the number of pearls that can be stored on some villagers keys off the 4 new starting villagers' common ability. This increases the villager goal completion tension. Added iconography for personal / global scoring villager abilities.

  • Removed villager icons collection mechanism.

  • Updated box design and size, so it now fits side faced on a Kallax shelf. New 16 page heavily illustrated english language rulebook added, and box insert now included to hold the components under the board.
