The Army Painter
John Blanche's influence reshaped the visual language of grimdark in wargaming, and the Masterclass Series continues his legacy with every release. After the spectral chill of Volume 3, Volume 4 turns toward fire - exploring the visceral warmth, raw vitality, and fierce energy found throughout Blanche's iconic Blanchitsu artwork. These ten completely new Warpaints Fanatic colours were developed in close collaboration with John Blanche, drawing from his signature ochres, searing oranges, and eerie greens.
Developed in collaboration with John Blanche and engineered by The Army Painter's design team, each Warpaints Fanatic colour in the collection is brand new and delivers exceptional pigment density, smooth application, and reliable performance - ideal for expressive, atmospheric miniature painting. This palette pushes warm tones beyond comfort and into intensity, helping painters ignite flesh, fabric, and fantastical armour with vitality and depth. All this plus exclusive artwork by John Blanche makes this a must-have addition for your Masterclass collection.
Used alone, these hues burn with character; paired with the colder palette of Volume 3, they create dramatic temperature contrast and powerful storytelling potential. Whether you're exploring decayed temples, sun-scorched wastelands, or feverish visions straight from John Blanche's imagination, Volume 4 expands the possibilities of grimdark.
These colours do more than add warmth to your miniature. They ignite it.
