Is That a Teddy Bear?

How motley are the creatures we find here! O strange new box that has such factions in it! What were we thinking? Tell, what's in a name?

This set has factions standing for four ages. At first the children, hugging Teddy Bears whose cuteness oft confounds opposing minions. The youth will next pursue their favorite band of Rock Stars questing for the greatest bases.

Mature Explorers, restless in midlife, strive always to be first in new horizons. Last, wise in life's pursuits, the Grannies shall manipulate their decks to draw what's needed.

Grannies, Rock Stars, and Bears. Oh my.

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

Smash Up is a wonderfully simple game for almost anyone to be able to pick up and play. With so many factions to choose from you get tons of replay value. So it's a no brainer to add another great expansion to further increase the pool of choices and thus the replay value.

Add some absurdity to your Smash Up

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I was initially drawn to this expansion because of the Grannies and Teddy Bear factions; the idea of Zombie/Teddy Bears duking it out with Ninja/Grannies amused me enough to open my wallet. I was not disappointed in that regard; the themes of these factions are on-point and several pieces card art bring a smile to my face. However, it would be remiss of me to say that some of the factions in this expansion are a bit more on the advanced side of things. If you're a new player looking to expand their core set, I would recommend picking up Awesome Level 9000 or It's Your Fault first as those sets play a bit more straightforward than What Were We Thinking.
