Now your expanding continent can include iconic landscape features! Add Kilimanjaro, the Sahara, Serengeti and others to your developing world.

And of course there are more animals to increase the population of your ecosystem - from Nile Crocodiles to herds of Zebra. New Horizon introduces a new type of card mechanic to play these landscape features, and each interacts with the landscape in a unique way that will affect all players' choices throughout the game. Can your plans withstand the creeping expansion of the Sahara or benefit from the deep jungle of the Congo Basin?

Interesting options to add to your game

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

The new cards add some new wildlife and some interesting geography options to Ecos. Not a must have but a nice change of pace.

A quality product at a reasonable price. Unlike many expansion I've played, this one is not overly complicated yet still adds layers of new gameplay elements you will enjoy. Directions are clear and concise. John D. Clair does it again!

Slightly more stuff

Average rating of 3 out of 5 stars

Two new starter decks to choose from. New animals and new cards. New special tiles, which are somewhat confusing how to score; the current game state must show tiles exactly how it’s depicted on the special tile card and when it is you lay the card down, score the points and then bring on the special tiles. These special tiles are off color than the original pieces, they will be sitting on top of the already played pieces. It was all just okay. I enjoy the theme, and the execution of the game, and this didn’t do anything special in my eyes. More animals is cool and more cards is cool, but there are so many cards the fact of seeing all the cards would take so many plays and it’s not like I was over the already mass amount of cards I had. If you like the game, you get slightly more and why not get it!

Add Depth (and height) to your game!

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

Ecos: new horizon expands on the origial game in some cool ways, adding goals and landmarks as well as new animals to add to your game play. As a game my partner and I both love to play and teach this makes it feel fresh giving new options and combos. I do wish it had more options to add onto the original game's starter decks. Regardless if you love Ecos it's a no brainer - and you get a massive Mt. Killimanjaro piece that you can play.
