Bohnanza: 25th Anniversary Edition

Fantastic game, for anyone who loves negotiation. It's very interesting how the game incentivizes you to negotiate, based on what's in your hand, and trying to not be forced into a bad play on your own turn. This is a fantastic edition with a number of small modules in it, and lots of variety in ways that you can play.

Bean Game as we call it is a really fun negotiation game where you are heavily incentivized to trade with the other players to each get as many multiples of the same bean type in your own field. Coming to a deal helps both you and whoever you trade with, but you both want the better half of the deal since you know both of you need it. My group has added another fun layer to the game by offering deals of cards now for a cards later as well

I love Bohnanza :) The artwork is cute and awesome. The anniversary edition comes in a very nice book-style box of heavy cardstock. Even comes with a metal Bean Dollar that is actually used in one of the expansions for the game, included. Also in the box are cardstock beanfields, double-sided, and autographed pics of the game maker and the artist. The game itself is easy to understand and simple to play. But it takes thought as to when you should harvest your beans, even at a loss, to have a chance to score more Dollars a bit later on. Overall Bohnanza is a fantastic game and the Anniversary edition is a great item. :)

I think it's a classic. 25 years after it came out, and I've still never played anything quite like it. A great blend of negotiation, strategy, and light fun. If you haven't played it, do yourself a favor and try it out. This edition has some nice bonus cards and some kinda meh garden plot cards. The box is also pretty cool.

We always have a fun time playing this game and it always seems to go over well with new players. We like two player mode but some others don't. The trading on the main game can be group dependent and may fall flat with wrong group.

At first I was confused because it had different cards and some minor different rules than I'm used to, but once I figured out that I can play the very original version plus original expansion, as well as the latter Rio Grande Rules (the most common ones; that I'm used to), as well as a few new mini expansions, I decided this is definitely the version for me.

I watched many review and how to videos on this game and always came away feeling meh about it. Then my brother bought it and we played it. I was very much surprised by how engaging it was and how subtly strategic it is. So much so, that I ended up buying a copy myself. Very glad I did. My wife and kids love it too!

great game. if you like trading resources as a game mechanic, you will probably like this game.

I bean, you bean, we all bean for ice beans! Such a fun, light game that even children can play. New rules, but essentially the same old game.
