Highest Quality
Brown Battleground is perfect for mounds of debris or areas of dense, small rock. Drybrush for a different color or texture appearance. These are all great products.

More like red brown battleground
Unfortunately not what I was looking for. The granules are a bit larger than I was expecting. Wouldn’t recommend for basing minis especially smaller sizes like 1 inch. The color is more like a reddish brown brick color. I’m sure the product would work better for building terrain/diorama use but I haven’t tried.

Basing
I find this to be a good product for the price range and have been happy with the results in basing and doing dioramas.

Solid Choice
I’m a fan of making my bases customized on my minis. The basing kits are great for getting it just right. Durable container makes sure you don’t end up with basing material all over the place.

Expensive but good
More angular than the sand in my area, so it catches a dry brush nicely. But for the price I might just stick with sand once this is gone. Little goes a long way though so I'll have it for awhile.

Unnecessary but worth it
You definitely don't need to buy this. There are free alternatives like sand and dirt. However, for $5 this will last a long time and I think it looks way better than any other options. I put it on a base with some ripped-up cork and then paint it. I think the effect looks fairly good for a dusty barren planet.
