I like it BUT

Average rating of 3 out of 5 stars

Like it but it's way less impressive than the other Army Warpaint Metallics I've tried. Full disclosure, I'm new to miniatures. Gemstone, Fairy Dust, Azure Magic are absolutely incredible. Gemstone I've literally already used as a base (it's my dream metallic red with Citadel's Spiritstone Red on top!) This one needs a black base for sure. Not as much coverage and the impact of the sparkle is less significant. It's like a muddy dark grey that's a little sheer but over black it'll add visual interest. Just expect to use a lot and understand it's not as noticeable on the table. Critical opinions aside, I bought a second bottle and am planning on mixing it with a wash like reikland flesh shade to pick up the red accents I added to my young black dragon while adding a bit of something more exotic and hopefully eye catching coming out of the shadows. See if my DM wants to kill us all next campaign! Lol Either way this color is fun just not the same quality as the others I've tried in the set.

Buy extra

I want to love this the other Warpaint Metallics I tried from this set were absolutely amazing but this one wasn't as good. I'll use it but need to use a lot more of it and a black or dark base coat. The Azure Magic is freaking magic so pigmented. The base of this one is like a watered down black or darker wash with the glitter detail. Probably the color but it's not as eye catching as the others I tried, up close or in bright sunlight it's co but on a game shop table? Not sure anyone will notice the difference unless they hold it up to their face. It's nice but not as awesome as the Fairy Dust or Gemstone or Azul Magic which are just beautiful. May have to buy the box set for duplicates and because I want the green.

Not quite what I expected

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

It is a solid paint but wasn't quite what I had envisioned. It is almost.. more shiny/reflective than you'd expect black metal to be. I'm going to try mixing it with some matt black and see where that gets me. Also, like all Army Painter paints, shake well.
