Zombicide: Zombie Core Paint Set

Good variety for a good price, comes with a nice brush and lots of info, great for niche paint pallets.

Note: The reaon I recommend not purchasing this set and give it a '3' rating is that there is another set ' The Army Painter Zombicide 2nd Edition Paint Set' which has 17 paints and 3 washes (as opposed to 9 paints and 1 wash) and 8 of the 9 paints in this set are also available in the 'Zombicide 2nd Edition Paint Set' - I bought both not realizing that I was duplicating so many paints. Both come with a paintbrush - but the Zombicide 2nd Edition Paint Set also comes with one figure Phil so in addition to paints and a paint brush you get a figure. Having said that - there is nothing at all wrong with the Core Set - it's cheaper and provides you with all the basic paints you need - but if you can afford it I'd go for the Zombicide 2nd Edition Paint Set to eliminate duplcation of paints and doubleing the number of paints/washes you get.. The brand name for the paints is 'The Army Painter' Warpaints and it comes with 9 different paints and one 'wash' called 'Zombie Shader' - I have many zombies to paint and this seems to be a fine 'base' set for painting zombies - with the names you'd expect for the paints ' Mouldy Clothes' 'Crusted Sore' and 'Zombie Skin' being just some of the names. The set comes with a free brush which looks like it would be good for some fine detail work. The labels show the volume of the paints to be 0.6 fl oz or 18 ml so you are getting pretty much the standard size dropper containers used by the industry. My one concern about the paints is the naming convention. While 'Zombie Skin' or 'Mouldy Clothes' or 'Crusted Sore' are fun names, I'd really appreciate it if they could also have the more 'conventional' names on there as well so I'll know what 'the conventional name is for Crusted Sore' . That way if I'm not painting zombies and was looking for a darker shade of red - I'd know whether 'Crusted Sore' is the same shade of red as another shade of red I might already own or if it is lighter or darker without having to actually pour out some of each to compare them against each other. Which is a waste of paint. To be fair, the bottles of paint DO say what the 'Army Painter Warpaint equivalent is - but it does not provide the 'conventional name' of the paint to compaire between brands. Other paints do this and have 'conventional names' as well as the 'fun names' which does help out the painter when they are using the paints to paint more than zombies.

Finally started painting my zombies. This core set is a must-have if you are a beginner painter such as I am. The paints are thick so use only small amounts and add water. Very happy with this purchase

Worth the money but the paint brush is not the greatest but does work for a newbie. Has all the colors for the base game. I would also recommend the other addon colors.
