The HMS Ambuscade 1773 was built at Depford and served in the Royal Navy during the American Revolution. It was captured by the French corvette Bayonnaise in December 1798, when blockading Rochefort, and then brought into French service as Embuscade. The frigate was recaptured by the British in May 1803.

Nice Addition to the Sails of Glory Fleet.
Sails of Glory is an excellent system for reproducing naval combat in the Age of Sail. It is derived from the equally brilliant Wings of Glory, which portrays aerial combat in both WWI and WWII. The use of illustrated cards to govern movement -- in both SoG and WoG -- makes moving much easier than in other Age of Sail games. The model of the Embuscade -- a 32-gun frigate is representative of all the ship models available for the game -- well-made, nicely painted, ready-to-use right our of the box. For me, the expense is well worth it not to have to exercise my clumsy painting skills.
