A Feast for Odin: The Norwegians Expansion (2nd Printing)

This expansion really brings lots of variance into the game. And it fits well even if you never played the base game.

This expansion offers a delightful more of the same of what made the base game excellent, while also patching a few of the problems with the base. Animal strategies are now more easily accessible and profitable, exploration boards a bit more balanced, and the main action board scales better since it can be tailored to player count. Fantastic expansion and worth the money!

The base game already offers many options and interesting decisions but this expansion makes some of the less viable options from the base game more interesting such as livestock or doing more with occupation cards. The new actions offer great flexibility, especially in making sure your final turn each round feels meaningful. There’s enough going on in the base game that the changes and additions here feel right at home rather than deeply changing the game, bloating it, or feeling overwhelming. I played this back to back with the base game with my wife who is less enthusiastic about expansions than I am and she found the expansion easy to learn and thought it made the game not just different but better.

The base game of A Feast for Odin is a great game. After knowing the rules it plays smoothly and the different routes to victory allow a challenge. After some time with it, you will notice that some routes are superior to others because of the benefit to action cost ratio. The Norwegians Expansion includes a new board and adjustable board for player counts. Actions have been rebalanced and some merged together to make all routes to victory feel balanced. After some time with it, I will only play with the expansion as it is the best way to play. Even with a first time player the expansion can be used because it improves but does not complicate A Feast for Odin.

Improves the placement options, expands the opportunities and varies up the paths. If you ever get bored of the base game, this will freshen the experience right up.

Only makes a good game better. Quality boards and was easy to play.
