When starting a new army in any miniature game the starter box is usually the bare minimum to play the army with little support or additional units. This box has everything you need to create a nice variety and find what you want to play like heavy armor or light armor. Also has all the cards you need for the units and a complete rulebook so you do not have to buy that separately. There is a lack of infantry units but Team Yankee is not an infantry game so not a huge loss.
