Blood & Plunder: Blackbeard vs Maynard Starter Set

This is a HUGE box with ships! Something I was t about to get from the original rules of the game. Blood and Plunder is one of the more intuitive miniatures games. Easy concepts, great sculpts a d lots of battle report videos online to learn the game. This is an all plastic set. So you'll spend some time putting together the pirates and the ships, but the sculpts from Firelock are always superb. I'm excited to put it all together and play the scenarios of Blackbeard's final battle. The original rules only dealt with the 17th century. This set and expansion book takes us into even more familiar territory of piracy in the early 18th century. Swords clash, powder burns, and sea dogs fight to the death.

This box set is an incredible value with an amazing sculpt of blackbeard! The ships are beautiful and rewarding to build.

This starter set is not just the best starter set for Blood and Plunder, but the best starter set for any 28mm skirmish game. You get two leaders, Black Beard and Maynard the man who took him down. You get 2 forces, one pirate, the other British, as well as 2 sloop warships. You can play battles on the high seas as well as on land with the provided double-sided play mat. You get dice, initiative decks for both sides as well as a rule book, status tokens and play aids. This starter set provides everything you need for two players to have high adventure on the Spanish Main.

If you want bang for your buck, this is the set for you. The full rule book included is awesome. You have more than enough sailors to get your two sloops up and running. It really is a great way if you plan on sea battles in Blood and Plunder. The included paper game mat is a nice touch. This game really has some table presence!

If you ever wanted to try to command a pirate ship or just try Blood & Plunder, this is the best time to do it. The Value of this package includes all you need to play except maybe some glue and paint. I plan on having many exciting adventures with this.

Excellent starter set. Models are excellent, rules are tight. Could use a bit more on the different factions you can build into, but their online army builder covers everything for free so not a huge issue. This box has 2 12 long sloops in it. Enough said.
