Improved upon original CoMKL

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I honestly got this cuz i thought maybe it would satisfy an itch for a more travel friendly (necessary components to play dont take up as much space as the original *Castles* of Mad King Ludwig though box almost as big) version of original game, but I got so much more. Played Blueprints twice so far, then played original Castles of MKL again to refresh my memory on exactly what was different between the 2 versions. Everything that worked perfectly streamlined in Blueprints, seemed clunky in Castles (in comparison) but it still had a similar feel to the original. Some room completion bonuses worked exactly same in Blueprints as in Castles (yellow rooms completed let you take an extra turn) and some were updated for new format (no $ in Blueprints, so outdoor rooms help you get more square footage on blueprint paper unlocked and available to draw on). Any time you may have been stuck, there would be a special bonus that could be used, or something interesting that could be done. Also, Big Plus: scoring was significantly simplified (EVERY time I play Castles, either someone forgets to score half their points, or you have to draw up a complicated spreadsheet and just tabulate it at the end Instead of scoring thru out game). In Blueprints, you only scored completed rooms and every food room was worth 4 points, every completed living room worth 7 or something. Really, really simplified scoring to be marking stuff off on your sheet while u play the game (to keep track of not just ur score, but also which room completion bonuses you have used, etc). Think Blueprints of MKL will get to the table a LOT more than Castles of MKL. Great reimplimentation that worked all the bugs out of the original.
