Dog Park is a great game! A must have.

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Dog Park is a great game with beautiful art! It has a great box design (major points in our house), all unique cards, and it is FUN to play! Fast and easy to learn and just strategic enough to keep us coming back each time. A must have in our house.

Pretty look, but pretty disappointing gameplay

Average rating of 3 out of 5 stars

The game is well produced! Top notch Components and artwork. However the gameplay is not up to par with the look. Trying to get the right breeds of dogs for end game points is fun enough but the drafting/bidding mechanics don't make for deep strategic choices and while walking your dogs does feel like the game PARKS, it leaves a lot to be desired. That part of the game should have been fleshed out more. Overall it's a pretty game that doesn't offer much else.

This is NOT wingspan but with dogs.

Average rating of 3 out of 5 stars

So as a dog lover, I immediately was drawn to this game. With over 100 games in my library, I feel like I love all sorts of mechanics. This game fell short though. It may look like wingspan but it's not, which is a good thing but the mechanics of this game makes it draw out alot of time. Bidding your reputation points on a dog card was a neat idea on paper but wasn't fun when you start to play. Everyone seems to just bid 1 point and if they lose, they just get whatever card is left over. No big deal, you still will get 2 dogs on that round. Walking the dogs through the park takes a long time, with everyone seeming to just want to collect everything possible on their turn. My group didn't care if they were last, you only lose 1 rep point and you can collect 2 before that most of the time. I wanted to love this game, the art on the cards was beautiful. The gametrayz organizer and wooden pieces make you feel like you got the deluxe version. Also, my box arrived smashed in one corner pretty bad and even damaged the main board itself. My son opened the box and started punching components before I got home and saw the damaged box because he was more excited to play the game so can't return and it probably should have been on the ding and dent shelf for 40% off. Lol. So check your box and tell your kids don't open it unless it's OK. How someone at their warehouse could place that in the box for my order thinking, yeah, that looks new. Is beyond me...
