Great expansion to core game!
Gives you an assortment of iconic Clan mechs. The Rulebook consists of the same rules as the core set, with some additional entries for Clan specific rules. The elementals are exceptional sculpts.

A Kerwin
There is a lot in the box that I won't use, like the cardboard cut-outs and maps, as I prefer 3D terrain and models. The source material is good but you can also find it online. The models are really nice, as always, having excellent quality and detail. I am glad I got it on sale.

Great Value
Such a well put together expansion set. The quality of the product has gone up considerably since the last time I played Battletech about 15 Years ago.

Great Way to Jump Into the Game!
An excellent way to jump into the Battletech universe. The 5 mechs and 2 bases of battle armor are great quality. This set includes everything you need for you first step into an amazing board/miniature game.

Invasion!
A gorgeous release that focuses in on one of my favorite moments in the Battletech setting. Excellent minis and components all in one package.

That Inner Sphere star map though
The surprise hit in this box for me is the Inner Sphere star map. Its impressive. For the price, its a no-brainer. A full star of clan mechs, 2 points of Elementals, and an expansion to the GoAC book that adds the clan tech rules including Elementals. Keep in mind this does not include the game rules on how to play. You need to get the GoAC set, Battlemech Manual, or Total Warfare book for that.

Great expansion to 3050
Fantastic box, but not a starter set. It serves to add tge clans to the game of armored combat.

Amazing sculpts, high quality product, but not perfect...
I LOVE the new Battletech sculpts! I don't game anymore, but I still enjoy collecting, painting, and modeling minis. I got exposed to the Battletech universe through PC and console games, and the old sculpts always seemed outdated. These new sculpts are impeccable. As a person who enjoys modeling and painting these are great. My ONLY complaint is that I wish that they had used a slightly softer plastic to make it a bit easier to remove what little flash is on these. It's not much, but I am overly picky when it comes to flash removal. The plastic is just a TAD too hard to be easily trimmed, but it's ok. I still rate these minis A++. The trimming, if you choose to do it, should be done by an adult; but it will be fine if you don't. I'm just picky. If you are looking to get into Battletech or mini war gaming in general and haven't made up your mind yet, these new sculpts are HARD to beat. These will be an absolute joy to paint, and they will look beautiful on the tabletop. The other part of my review covers the extras. There are lore packets of short stories in these and they are interesting to get someone immersed in the universe's lore. They didn't have to produce these, so the extra touch is appreciated and welcomed. The rulebooks are easy to read, understand, and the rules are mostly intuitive. I feel that Battletech can easily be played with your kids if you want to introduce them to mini wargaming when compared to other game systems. Granted, some things have to be referenced, but every game has that. Battletech's rules are on the simpler side compared to other wargames. So, I give high marks there too. The new line of Battletech products are A++ to me. Get these even if you're just interested in collecting and painting them like me. They're gorgeous and look more realistic from an engineering and military perspective than the older sculpts. In my opinion the detail level has gone up an order of magnitude. Another good point is the price. I have 5 rather large armies from Warhammer, and 8 also rather large armies from Warmachine, so I know what I'm talking about. lol Getting into Battletech is VERY cheap in comparison, but the quality is superb. I know, I know, I keep gushing over the minis, but they're just so beautiful. I can't help it. lol I hope this helps someone make a decision. :) Cheers.
