BattleTech: Miniature Force Pack - Inner Sphere Direct Fire Lance

I've always been a fan of the battletech universe, having played all the mechwarrior video games since the 2nd one. However, I was a little put off by the miniatures. The old metal ones were a little old-fashioned, and I heard bad reviews about the difficulty of working with them. The new plastic models are really great. They look stunning, and they are a pleasure ot paint. No problems with diffuclt assembly (pinning, filing etc...). They have a nice weight to them. The only down side is the plastic is a little resistant to cutting or sanding. Which can make cleaning up the rare mold lines a bit of a chore, but does protect them from wear and tear. If you do have to do any work on them, I recommend using some modeling cement to smooth the surface afterwards. In this pack, the Marauder 2 had a couple of moldlines near the head, and an ugly chin strap that I decided it would look better without. After some small modifications, I'm really happy with the final result. The other models in the pack have no problems, and include some of my favorites from the old video games.

This set is by far the best Inner Sphere set to date. I am a Marauder FanGirl, so seeing the Marauder 2 in this set was a true blessing and so very cool. The Atlas is always a welcome addition, the Crusader is very cool and a nasty customer on the table and the Orion is solid. The Marauder 2, of course, was the centerpeace of this set for me. What a great price as well. All mechs are pre-assembled, one peace, and can be taken right from the box to the table to play with. Very solid and well made in good quality plastics. I Love this set and may buy another just to get more Marauders. As a Woman who likes to get right down to business in my games, this was the perfect set.

We were in the middle of a fairly long campaign when my boys bought me this pack for Father's day. Of course, my younger son immediately swapped out the 1990's version of the Crusader for this one. I'm also excited to get a modern sculpt of the Orion and Atlas. I don't particularly care for the Marauder II because I'm still bitter about the original seen/unseen issues, but the sculpt looks really good.

High quality miniatures

They wonderfull some battle tech mini out I hope more people up come to this game.

The new plastic sculpts are nicely detailed, and easy to customize if you want to kitbash other variants. The modern MechWarrior aesthetic reflects the factory assembly-line aspect of BattleMech lore far better than the older artwork had done. There may be some mold lines to deal with, but nothing unusual for plastic models.
