BattleTech: ComStar Command Level II

I'm still early in my Battletech journey, so I can't say how these models perform in-game, but they're a lovely group of sculpts and the price is very reasonable compared to a lot of miniatures games. I'm looking forward to using the King Crab and Black Knight, and the Mercury's ability to sprint 16 hexes in a turn is sure to be a hoot.

I love these Mechs. This box is in my opinion one of the best boxes for a battletech player. It gives a large selection of strong mechs to play with

All of the minis are really good updates of the classic designs without ruining the overall silhouettes. This comstar set contains some good mechs, several you’d probably use even if you don’t bother with this faction! From light to assault there’s a good spread of machines to challenge the field!

WONDERFUL DETAILED MINIATURES. SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE OLD METAL ONES. I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING BATTLETECH SINCE THE 1980'S . WHEN CATALYST GAME LABS TOOK OVER THE BATTLETECH LINE I WAS SO IMPRESSED BY THE QUALITY OF THE MINIATURES. NOW HAVING TWO WAYS TO PLAY BATTLETECH IS SO GREAT. ALPHA STRIKE IS SUCH A GREAT ADDITION. LOOKING FORWARD TO ADDING MORE MECHS IN THE FUTURE.

I bought this mainly for the Highlander and King Crab. I waited for a coupon code and then made sure my order was over $99 for free shipping. Good price. The models look nice. They have some mold lines, but a hobby knife will clean that up. Wash them in water to remove any kind of mold release that may still be on them and they're good to prime.

MM's price on this item, and the other Catalyst Battlemech sets is really good. Even factoring shipping when ordering just a single set, it's cheaper notably cheaper than Amazon, and much cheaper than retail. The current line of Catalyst plastic miniatures is great. While being able to glue together limbs would nice, giving each their own custom pose (very helpful when fielding multiple of the same mech), there's no disappointment to be had in the poses you get. If you're not sure about the quality of the miniatures (I assure you are rock solid, one molded piece), stop by your local gaming store on a Sat/Sun. You'll find definitely find someone playing Battletech, and promise you they will be using at least some of this line of minis. A friend of mine, who is super deep in the lore, points out to me that the relatively sizing on these miniatures isn't accurate (by his interpretation). The light mechs (like the Mercury in this set) shouldn't be so shorter then any of the others. Doesn't bother him enough to not get them, but something to consider if you care a lot about that. For me, who has only been playing BattleTech for about a year, I really the size difference. The bulk/height of a model giving me an idea of its tonnage, and light mechs looking small and swift, makes sense to me and helps me gauge their threat without an encyclopedic knowledge all the mechs. This pack gives you some solid and iconic Mechs, that you'll to have in your collection. The King Crab and Black Knight are common big mech (assault and heavy respectively) and Sentinel small medium that is common as an anchor for light lances. Just those three make this a pack a must for anyone wanting a good represenation of popular and/or common Inner Sphere Mechs. I actually picked this up for the Mercury specifically (knowing all the mechs would get us eventually). At 20t with a pair of medium and small lasers, has just enough power on the battlefield that it can't be totally ignored when it sweeps around for a flank, but lacks the threat to make it a priority target. It only has speed for protection. I'm fond of it, but it is likely the least likely of these pack for you to use.

This one has a sweet selection of mechs. I'm enjoying painting them so far.

ComStar's mechs always stood out to me. This set in particular has plenty of firepower for the price. The sculpts pick up inks and dry brushing like a dream for anyone who enjoys speed-painting.
