Our GM and Beginner Player Polyhedral 7-Die Sets will be a great learning tool for new players unfamiliar with the different shapes of polyhedral dice. The idea behind these sets is that a GM can simply state the color of the die (for example Orange d6) so the new player can easily identify and learn these shapes while roleplaying. Nostalgia Opaque - The dice colors of this set were chosen based upon the dice included in a classic RPG. That set did not contain either the d10 die or the Tens 10 die. This set will have those included as Black dice. One with white numbers and one with red. The idea behind this is that a GM wanting a percentile roll can simply tell the player to roll both black dice.

Classic dice!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Only one little problem but no biggie; the percentile die is black with red numbers. It can be a bit hard to read in low light.

Great for beginners

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This set is great for nostalgia but even more so for beginners so you can connect each dice individually.

What Goes Around...

Average rating of 3 out of 5 stars

This new dice set is modeled after the original polyhedral dice set in the Dungeons & Dragons - Basic Set (Holmes edition), first published in 1977. This was the first set of polyhedral dice that many of us, back the the day, ever had. They were referred to as soap dice because as they collected wear, the plastic would begin to breakdown or crack so that they appeared to be dice carved out of used colored soap. This new set from Chessex is designed for the long haul, using modern-day plastic, but they have the original colors of the dice from the Holmes set, which were uniform for each type of die. Except for, of course, the d10 and the d100 tens die, which were not even manufactured at that time. It's a nice little nostalgia set, and well worth the price for all the old-schoolers out there, or anyone who wished they were part of the original old-school.
