Unbalanced Alone
The Rivals/Confrontations series in DC Deck builder is hands down my favorite. The core mechanic of declaring a confrontation is always fun. The problem with Green Lantern vs Sinestro is the balance. Across numerous play throughs it is easily apparent Green Lantern (GL) is biased to win. Perhaps he just has a simpler strategy but none of us have found a way to make Sinestro feel balanced in this rivalry. So as a freestanding game this one falls short. If you’re new and considering a DC deck builder I recommend Batman vs Joker, or Confrontations if you regularly play with more than two players. I would only recommend this if you already have and enjoy Batman vs Joker because the characters from Rivals can be easily mixed. So it’s good for new variety or to complete the collection.
