A good game with great potential

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

D&D Onslaught Review At this point, Onslaught will not unseat Warhammer Underworlds as my favorite tactical skirmish game, for the rules are a bit clunkier and the tactics quite not as deep, but it does come in a strong second and I will continue to support the line. I am already, after just a few games, becoming attached to some of the characters. And there is enough variety among the scenarios that each character finds its niche quite nicely; All seem equally useful, though in different circumstances. This makes Onslaught very true to the D&D RPG experience, where having a balanced party is crucial. What would probably raise it to my top game would be a release of campaign books of linked scenarios, along with some way to keep character customization and leveling up continuing throughout the campaign, through additional higher-level skill cards and treasure items. Here's hoping the developers are thinking along these lines! In conclusion, I find this game, though expensive, to be well worth the price, and there is ample design space to make it even better.
