Fangs & Talons #15 Kobold Inventor (U)

Needed a kobold mini for a upcoming PC. Ive spent time and money on heroforge and the like in the past, and while they are cool, they are brittle and break easily. The fact is i was able to buy two of these plus shipping for the same price as a file download from heroforge…AND they are painted.

Such a cool little mini, great to fill out a kobold war band.

I love a variety of Kobolds! Low levels monsters in variety and in mass.

Note: I use all miniatures for tabletop RPGs and fantasy figures are generally used for games and settings adhering to older D&D games, particularly with regard to the color palette and design of each figure. I won’t be reviewing any other game stats which may come with a given figure. Kobolds are not among my favorite monsters, but I needed some for the classic D&D experience. The kobold inventor takes design queues from a recurring motif going back to at least AD&D 2E, which I appreciate. I also love skunks. I think the sculpt is good, but there are artefacts from the molding process as with many mass produced plastic figures of this scale. I can’t quite tell yet, but I think some detail is painted on; the teeth for instance. I can’t quite tell if there is any sculpted detail for them. The paint seems very well applied, the eyes are in the correct spot and even the skunk has little white dots in the right spot. Overall, a good figure to place on the table; everyone should be able to tell exactly what it is and you shouldn’t need to do anything to the figure for use unless you intend to repaint it.

I didn't notice the skunk until I got the package from the mail. That have me a good belly laugh.

Good, not great - the paint job is of the standard mass-produced variety, although there are some nice details to to it such as the skunk's tail and pot. Good for building an army of kobolds.

This guy, I like him. He isn't painted super well, but that doesn't detract from the Fangs & Talons #015 Kobold Inventor (U) experience

They had me at a kobold packing a skunk and wasps. The paint job is great especially for such a small mini, and has many of the inventors overall features well captured. Like past kobolds it's very small but the colors really make it stand out among its allies as one to perhaps beware of before your party gets hit by a wasp pot.
