Children of warrior clans and nobility start with their martial teachings after their sixth harvest. Most high-born boys and girls are encouraged to get accustomed to the weight of the bow and sword, in hopes to provide safety for their family or later attend higher causes. Upon reaching adolescence, they are sent to prominent lords as personal attendants in servitude. They assist their new masters with various tasks, amongst which the most paramount one is accompanying them in battle.
Well-armed and accustomed to the basics of combat, warrior attendants are reliable fighters. Whence they have proven their skill, attendants become recognized as full-fledged warriors, formally embracing the status and responsibilities of a bushi.
