Heavier? Lighter?

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

I was very curious to see how this is different from Everdell. I hear it is supposed to be lighter, but if so I think only slighlty so. Where Farshore attempted to simplify things, such putting an anchor onto a construction so you can pull a critter into your city that matches the construction's card type, it does complicate things in other ways, such as the scoring maps, the winds of change, and the rising tide mechanic. I found it very easy to pick up since it is so close to Everdell, but Farshore is not that much lighter than the original. That's not a good or bad thing. I think it strikes a good balance of familiar yet different. If you love Everdell and/or are drawn to a nautical/beach theme, I say try Farshore.
