Endless Winter: Paleoamericans takes place in North America, around 10,000 BCE. Players guide the development of their tribes across several generations - from nomadic hunter-gatherers to prosperous tribal societies. Over the course of the game, tribes migrate and settle new lands, establish cultural traditions, hunt paleolithic megafauna, and build everlasting megalithic structures.

Endless Winter is a euro-style game that combines worker placement and deck building in an innovative way. Each round, players send their tribe members to spaces on the board and pay for actions by playing cards and spending resources. Unplayed cards can be saved for an end-of-round phase where they will simultaneously revealed to determine the new player order and trigger a series of effects. After four brisk rounds, the player with the most prosperous tribe wins.

Worker placement and deck building in the stone age.

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Endless Winter: Paleoamericans is a worker placement, deck-building game for 2-4 players. Set in the Stone Age, players take on the role of a tribe of humans trying to survive in a harsh and unforgiving world. The game is played over four rounds, each of which consists of a main action phase and an eclipse phase. During the main action phase, players send their tribe members to various action spaces on the board. These action spaces allow players to gather resources, build structures, research new technologies, and train their tribe members. One of the things that I really like about Endless Winter is the way that it combines worker placement and deck-building. The worker placement aspect of the game allows players to strategically allocate their resources, while the deck-building aspect of the game allows players to customize their strategy and develop their tribe's unique abilities.

Good Game; Needs Expansion

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

I got Endless Winter and all three large expansions, as well as the smaller KS modules. I've enjoyed the game quite a bit. Though I have to admit it feels a bit samey from game to game, I find that I just keep pulling it out. It's a solid game that I expect will stay on my shelf for a long time even if there are other games I'm honestly more passionate about. That said, it desperately needs the expansions. Any one of the three large expansions greatly increases the variety and replayability, and I feel myself edging closer to being passionate about Endless Winter as I experiment with different expansion combinations. It could become a 5 star in time--but at the end of the day, this is a review about Endless Winter, not Endless Winter plus Expansions. So should you buy it? If you enjoy deck-building and worker placement, and especially if you don't already have a good library of both genres of games, I'd suggest you pick this one up. But expect 4-star play unless you're willing to shell out a little more cash for a few expansions that are well worth the price.

This has been on my wish list since it was released. Finally got a copy and truly enjoy the gameplay. Only played at 2-player and it’s a lot of fun.

Amazing game

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Endless winter base game is good, but once you add in the various expansions, there is endless variety and fun to be had. I've only solo'd the game, but serusouly, do yourself a favor and get all 3 expansions, watch the different gaming rules videos on YouTube and get this game to the table! The game is really not as difficult as it seems and the more you play it the better it gets!

So much GREAT packed into this game!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This game is an awesome blend of a lot of my game mechanics: set collection, area control, deck building, and card drafting. The artwork is amazing. The production is so top-notch. Iconography is easy to understand and rules are clear and easy to get into. It is a long game at higher player counts so be sure to buckle in and have snacks. Large table presence! Such a fantastic game. One of my favorites!

Even Better than Paleo

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Easily one of the top ten games of 2022. It's predecessor, Paleo was a fantastic game but this new title pushes gameplay to a delicious new level of complexity. Utilizing cards for collecting sets and then using them in a variety of ways to move the game forward makes this a delightful game to play. The area influence allows players to gain different powers to gain an advantage over the competition. Oh and did I mention there's tile placement? What does this game not have? Don't worry, if you missed the kickstarter, the base game is fantastic. Hopefully many of the add-ons will be available at retail to keep life in the game at a later time but know that this stands on its own.
