The venerable Wolverine has been in service to the GCPS for centuries. First introduced to frontline combat by the Jarek Corporation in 723AE during the Siege of Arkon VII, the design was seemingly a throwback to a bygone era. However, due to its durability, ruggedness and utility, it quickly became popular with remote outposts where funding the latest military hardware, and finding the people and parts to maintain it, was a serious challenge. The basic design has remained fairly stable through the years, although local customisations and modifications can be found throughout the GCPS. One of the most obvious, and prevalent variants is the APC, used to safely transport infantry into the thick of the action.

While the mega-corporations like Mazon Labs exclusively showcase the latest military hardware, many remote garrisons in the outer spheres will frequently field Wolverine formations, as they are so cheap and easy to keep running - but of course, where a planet or sector has fallen to the Plague, then the very same vehicles will fall into the hands of the infected. The Marauders especially like it - it has a certain brutish charm that appeals to their nature.

NOTES: The Wolverine can be deployed by the following factions - GCPS, Marauders, & Plague. Each vehicle in this Battlegroup set can be built as either a Wolverine Tank or a Wolverine APC.

Great Kit - Tricky Assembly

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

I love the look and feel of these models from Archon Studios being used in the Warpath universe. Being usable in 3 factions (GCPS, Plague and Marauders) makes it a very versatile kit in the FireFight game. Pros: Inexpensive set of 3 tanks/APCs High-Quality Hard Plastic Kit Great detail and some customization Cons: 1. No instructions in the box (they can be found online at Archon Studios Website) 2. Assembly is a bit tricky, mostly surrounding the tank treads. Plastic glue is helpful and gives some working extra time. Tips: Pre-read assembly instructions. When attaching certain parts the following step requires the previous step to not be complete yet.

3 affordable tanks

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

Each tank can be a battle tank or a troop transport. Durable plastic and easy to build. Not many build options though.

Great value and fantastic models, but you pay for it a bit on assembly

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

The Good: +Clean plastic and beautifully cast resin components, all neatly organized in individually wrapped plastic in a sturdy box. +Assembled models are large and intimidating, with surprisingly crisp detail and plenty of extra components to customize and personalize them. +Price is outstanding! $100 USD retail (and better discounts here) means you're basically getting a tank for around 26 bucks, which is insane in the current market. +2 ways to build, these tanks can be either standard battle tanks or APC variants, and swapping is as easy as moving a turret. The Bad: -These are a BEAR to assemble. Easily some of the most frustrating kits, especially when dealing with the tracks. DO NOT follow the directions at that part; put the road wheels on BEFORE the treads! -Instructions aren't included in or on the box. You have to search them out through the third party manufacturer (Archon Miniatures) and find the .pdf on their rather archaic website. -Instructions aren't the best. They're color-coded by sprue and reasonably clear, but they skip a few bits and as mentioned above the way they handle the tracks is mind-bogglingly poor. The Ugly: =If you're buying these for Firefight, you'll note that the unit entries provided in the updated Command Protocols book for them include sponson weapons that this kit DOES NOT include. You'll need to convert those from bits, though thankfully there are sponson mounts toward the rear-side of the vehicle, so it shouldn't be a huge ask. Still, it's a shame these bits weren't included as resin extras alongside the APC turret option. TL:DR; these are great value for the money and look and feel on par with anything the bigger companies are putting out, quality-wise. If Mantic starts putting paper instructions in or on the box (or at least provides them through their website) and includes (or at least offers) upgrade kits for the sponson weaponry, they'll have a pure winner here going forward.
