A classic roleplaying game returns. This new retro-apocalyptic edition of Twilight: 2000 goes back to the roots of the franchise with open-world roleplaying in the devastation of World War III. Just like the original 1984 edition, this new game is set in a year 2000 devastated by war - now in an alternate timeline where the Soviet Union never collapsed.
Twilight: 2000 is roleplaying game about survival in mankind's most desperate hour. Yet, in this bleak world, there is still hope. In the midst of utter destruction, you can start to build something new. Rally people to your ranks. Stake a claim and protect it. And maybe, if you live long enough, start turning the tide.

• A 152-page Player's Manual, including rules for character generation, skills, specialties, combat, base building, and travel.
• A 112-page Referee's Manual, describing a world at war and including 53 ready-to-play encounters and four complete scenario sites.
• A huge double-sided full-color travel map (864 x 558mm / 34" x 22")
• 15 engraved custom dice, including ammo dice and a hit location die.
• 16 modular battle maps, designed to create endless variety of battlefields.
• 108 cardboard tokens for fighters, vehicles, conditions, and more.
• 4 battle maps for specific scenario sites.

Nice components
I haven't played it yet, but the box is heavily laden with maps and rules. Everything is high quality. The paperback rules are stitched together before being glued into the paperback covers, so I don't think the pages will fall out. Dice are different camo greens. Cards have a linen finish (not cheap paper). Illustrations look great.

You get a lot out of the core set. Still reading the rules but if it is anything like the other items from Free League it should be very good.

The war that will never be - hopefully
Loved the original, this keeps the original storyline and the futility feel of war.

A well produced updated version
For those who remember the original version of Twilight 2000, this is a worthy successor. It takes a believable starting point to diverge from history to generate the world it exists in. Excellent quality components and rules. Looking forward to getting this to the the table!

Loved the 1st Edition and now Love this new Edition
Get successor to the first edition of this ruleset. Even played this now at a Virtual Con and had a great time with the new system which I think is even better than the 1st edition in many ways and more streamlined. Plus the setting feels like the same from the 1st Edition which I loved the most of any RPG back in the early 90s.

Nice new edition.
Production values on this latest edition are top notch. Art work really helps give the sense of a dark and desperate future. Rules are simple and can't wait to get a group together.

A classic made new
I remember the old game from the 80's, I read it but never played it. Well, I have read this one as well and created characters, and I must say using the life path system in the book to create characters is an absolute blast as it is a nice mix of choice and randomness that creates a particular kind of characters but with enough wrinkles to make them very interesting. Combat is crunchy with a lot of tactical elements but not enough to overwhelm the story. This is free league so the production values and look are also top drawer.

A welcome return
This is a wonderful return to the original Twilight 2000. It gives you conversion values for 1st and 2nd edition characters and equipment. I grew up playing the original, and still have both editions. I even have Twilight 2013
