It’s like being a kid again and way less prep work than the RPG. Highly recommend.

Just lke living in the 80's
I fondly remember growing up in the 80's. Spending time with my friends, hacking giant robots, befriending velociraptors, and investigating weird plants. Tales from the Loop the board game is good as an introduction to the Tales from the Loop setting and RPG system. The game plays like a simplified version of the pen and paper RPG system, with several different scenarios to play through. Each player takes on the role of one of several kids, each with a strength and weakness and an iconic item. Each scenario is designed to play out as a mystery taking place over one or two weeks. From the outset, you have usually very little information regarding the scenario and don't know how the end game will play out. Each scenario does have a degree of replayability, however, as investigating the random rumors you hear about at school, as well as performing various chores, is a big part of the game. Overall, if you like the show and are curious about the RPG system, or just enjoy board games, this is a worthwhile purchase.

After discovering the miniseries on Prime TV, and from the series of books that the show was based on, I decided I had to have the game and managed to get in on the pre-sale after having missed the Kickstarter. I love the game. So far have only played solo, but it's great, just the right feel for young teens exploring rumors of the area around their homes amid the structures and materials of the Loop, a sci-fi look at the 1980s. Miniature Market ads told me about it first, and then had a great pre-order price that let me buy both expansions along with the game.
