Better than it should be
This is the second time I've bought this game. I own Ultra Tiny Epic Galaxies and I love it, but the components weren't very good, due mostly to the size of the game. This has excellent components by comparison, but it's the same great game. This game is a worker placement, racing game, dice chucking, push your luck, and more all in one. It plays much better than it should considering how simple it is. In fact, the solo experience is just as good as playing with others, this game hits my table more than almost any other because it's short, simple, and strategic and you don't need any opponents. You may not like this game if you don't like a bit of randomness. You are at the mercy of the dice for sure, and a bad start can occasionally mean you will know almost immediately if you will win or lose. The game is so short, that this hasn't bothered me yet, but it could benefit from a catch-up mechanic. You may also not like that the theme is a little thin. You are putting pieces of wood on cards, and that's about it, but that goes with the territory for a micro game like this. You will like this game if you enjoy worker placement, a good balance of luck and strategy, you want something with depth but that doesn't take long to play, and you find randomness to be funny and not aggravating. I love the game, I highly recommend it, especially for the price.

I was surprised !
It looks complicated when you first try to understand how to play it but once you got it, it is FUN ! Lots of possibilities in a small box!! You need luck and strategies to decide what is the best way to score!

Small box lots to explore
How do you fit an exploration and colonization game into an index card sized box? As Scott Almes, I couldn't do it myself, but he's made an industry of it. Tiny Epic galaxies lets you and up to 4 players explore planets with special abilities either from visiting or through colonization. Using dice for actions and gaining special powers as your empire grows you race for the most points through conquered planets and hidden goals. It's fun and great to toss in a bag for a camping trip or when you know you'll be waiting in line for awhile. The lid is designed as a dice box so everything is set up to work together.
