Great upgrade
Do you really need this to play the game? Nope. Does it make the game experience better? Absolutely! It makes set up so easy and keeps everything neat and organized. Love the additional aesthetic factor too. Only downside is it won't fit in the box.

Fun, Colorful Game Mat
The game mat adds a fun, colorful backdrop for the game. I really like that components and cards are easier to pick up from the mat and are less prone to slide around. Is a game mat completely necessary? No, but I finally purchased it for the above reasons and I am well pleased.
