It is nice to have such a good black. You have to ask yourself how much more black can you get. None, none more black.

I use only this black because it really sticks. In fact, I use it on other things besides miniatures!!!

Silky, pigmented black base coat. Goes on fast and smooth. Citadel is sooo nice. One coat done. I've used it with a brush and I tried a beauty blender - efficient: made quick work, same beautiful coverage.

Are GW paints pricey? Yes. For certain tasks it's worth it to me to get the right tool. Abby black goes on nice and dark, not too glossy but also not chalky dark grey like some cheap black paint. It waters down fine for basic washes in medium or water. All around solid paint that I trust to one coat base unpainted parts here and there. Almost every miniature needs solid shadows going all the way to black on the underside of the figure and between gaps. A thin black wash would improve most novice paint jobs tremendously.

Great base color, pretty happy with it so far. Just adding some GW paints to my stock.

This is a strongly, solidly pigmented black, here. It has a nice thick consistency and thins out just right to provide excellent coverage in a couple thin coats, on average, drying to a really good opaque finish. Right now this is my favorite black to use and I'd definitely recommend it to anybody in need of a good strong paint to base coat black with.
