Of the 26 children in classes today, 3 are off playing hooky. In the morning chaos before school starts, children straggle in from the playground, and your job as homeroom teacher is to deduce which are missing.

Each student has a name starting with 1 unique letter of the alphabet (like "J" for James), and each homeroom teacher knows the identity of some of the students in school, represented by cards in their hands. But the teachers are competing to impress the principal and are not so eager to share what they know.

You earn points by directly deducing which students are where and which have been off playing hooky. How? Each round, players ask others for clues by choosing a player and giving hem a 5-letter word. That player must answer how many of the letters (students) they have from that word in hand. You will have to use deduction and elimination, but time is short. You can push your luck to try to pick up some extra information but could come up empty-handed.

Thinky deduction with a word game veneer

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

A very thinky deduction game where the players use 5-letter words to figure out what 3 letters of the alphabet are missing. Production is very sparse - even the scorepads could have been better (double-sided, notated by the round number for the guesses, etc...) but it's a lot of fun if you like challenging deduction and don't mind word puzzles. There were plenty of times during the game we all had to slow down and stare at our deduction sheets which we all found fun.
