Fits the bill perfectly
My youngest daughter is 13, loves mysteries, races through books faster than I can supply her with new ones, rereads the stories she's already enjoyed more than once, and adores all things fluffy and furry. This game pushes ALL the right buttons for her and is a perfect addition to our family's collection. The mysteries are not too adult-themed...yet. We've only played the tutorial and 2-3 of the subsequent ones, but beyond a couple eloping, no real issues. The game is very much story-driven, and the writing is thematic, engaging, even humorous at times, and my daughter loves it. Gameplay is very straightforward, and the mysteries have not yet been difficult to solve. We usually end with plenty of time to spare, but that also allows us a leisurely pace through the story, and that adds to the enjoyment rather than detract from it. It doesn't feel entirely pre-programmed, and the freedom of choices is certainly welcome. Too often these kinds of kids games practically PUSH you to go only 1 direction. This game does not do that, even if the overall choices are limited to 8 or so locations, 4 characters, perhaps a couple of items picked up along the way, and only 1 or 2 possible next hint cards available at any particular junction. We've really enjoyed the father/daughter time together, and that has made this game worth every penny!
