Arkham Noir is a solitaire card game inspired by the interconnected stories of H.P. Lovecraft and other authors, re-imagined as noir detective stories. Each case stands alone.
This third installment includes 2 game modes. The classic mode is where the objective is to collect 5 different types of clues wiht the "Puzzle" attribute before the time runs out or you lose your insanity. And the new "Hardboiled" mode that consists of completing all the Objective Cards before the time runs out or you lopse your sanity.
Put yourself in the shoes of the private detective Howard Lovecraft and investigate the events based on the stories "From Beyond" (1920), "Nyarlathotep" (1920), "The Haunter of the Dark" (1935), and Robert Bloch's "The Shadow from the Steeple" (1950).

Solo card game
30-45 minute solo game (I sometimes play longer, but never more than an hour once you get comfy with the rules). Great to take on a trip, but it takes up too much space to play on a plane or train. You need a table or smooth out the bed in the hotel. Still, a great little travel game or one to keep out for a little wind-down after a hard day at work.

Arkham Noir #3
Nice solo puzzle card game. Dark and atmospheric. This 3rd iteration adds new mechanisms and a little more color in the card art. If you are an H.P. Lovecraft fan, I think you will want this one.

A fun card puzzle
Arkham Noir is a card game built around matching symbols and making sets. The theme is limited to the card artwork, and the game mechanics take a little getting used to, but it is an enjoyable experience overall. Case 3 goes for a more story-oriented game, with branching investigations and menace cards in place of adding new cases with the time penalty.
